That guy is amazing. He's been a main force in the small living community for years. Two of my friends are big fans of him. I've gotta say the only thing I don't find persuasive about his houses is they aren't really pet friendly, unless your pet is tiny. Like a hermit crab.

I think I'd suffocate in there.
I 'd feel like a hermit crab myself,LOL!

The other thing is, where is his family living?
The guy is married, he has a ring on him!

Wow, kat! I was going to post a thread about this but wasn't sure where the right place was so I left it alone. It was on Yahoo News yesterday
In my oldest dream (since I was 12) I live in a RV and travel around the US with my partner and our dog. We are independently wealthy, because I inherited millions from my long lost and now deceased aunt (I'm not aware of having one like that, but hey, it's my dream!).

I watched it on Yahoo, too. Didn't think much of it except that it requires excessive organization.

i think it is a little TOO small for me, too. a large school bus would suffice though. what intrigues me is that he is doing it, and enough people are interested that he is making a living at it...not that it is particularly original, people have been living on boats for years, AND schoolbuses/rvs...it's the upgrade quality of these miniature domains that is interesting....they're small but not POOR.

but i share the gypsy fantasy, yin. my school bus would have a collapsible outside extension and solar panels on top.

I love the tiny house guy! We discovered him in 2000, and designed our schoolbus conversion around that concept. The bus has yet to happen, though we have the plans

Including skylight box gardens, and solar film on the sides of the bus, the chicken coop rides on the back, along with the biodesil cooker, and I've heard that one can find a tiny teeny wind turbine to power the electronics that would go on the top of the bus. Oh yeah I forgot the vermiculture underneath the chicken coop...

Glad to see I'm not the only one with a gypsy spirit around here!

abs is way ahead of me here AND on facebook!!

though i haven't got my bus designed i am currently living in a place about the same size as one. it doesn't move, alas, but i have enjoyed shedding many of the trappings i once had. if it were not for the winter water factor i would happily settle in here and convert it to more efficient space, so i could have a proper kitchen, foldaway bed, and many more improvements that would make it much more enjoyable. can't convince the owner to go solar yet though...
