I visit Lindaland (my #1 favorite) and 4 other online forums EVERYDAY. And what I have noticed --over the past 2 years at least-- is that although this is the place with the most number of loving, intelligent, enlightened, highly-evolved, knowledgeable and well-read members, this is the only place where discord and hostile disagreements happen. A LOT. This is the only place where it is not safe to share personal information with others privately, lest you're ready to one day be greeted by it like news flash on the site's pages. This is the only place where some members are forced to take temporary (and sometimes permanent) break when they feel they can't stand the (sometimes) "toxic" atmosphere. This is the only place where if you take on a Moderator position you should be prepared to also be a Warden. This is the only place where sometimes the Moderators themselves need "moderating". This is the only place where it's not enough that you state your thoughts on a subject; you have to be ready to defend them (you're wrong or bad or stupid if you can't). And finally, this is the only place that makes me do this (a lot): I don't think I will stop coming here. I this place and its people, whether I agree with them or not on issues and stuff. I think I just need to wash my hands more often to make sure that they're clean every time they touch my face.

For me it's the scrunchy fore-head thing! But then there is a lot of shared history that I just don't know about. It reminds me a bit of the Northern Ireland peace process. Qualification - I am not belittling this subject, it just has some similar elements on a much much smaller scale. Hey Gyps - nice to see you. IP: Logged |

Hi Gypsee! I was looking for "shakes my head" (SMH) lol-pics but couldn't find any. Good thing there's "face palm". Hi Eskimono! I can't stand online (and offline) hostilities. I'm a Scorpio (like you) but with too much Libra, so I don't understand why adults can't get along or at least be civil to each other. IP: Logged |

Hey Deux - I don't think we have spoken before - 'hi'.My forehead is getting scrunchier by the second, so I think I'll retire with a glass of wine. I can't decide whether Abs is Bill Clinton or Mo Mowlam....and on that note, I will run for the hills!! IP: Logged |

Was just thinking the same thing CPN - I was intending having some food to go with that glass of wine......but the cupboards are bare (apart from wine)!I think it is just gonna be pasta with some tommy sauce, and maybe a mountain of cheese on top. I could just go to the chippy? IP: Logged |

Winky Hey CPN! Cpn and Eskimono, this is what I'm having for dinner. Pasta Salad (with canned tuna, fresh tomatoes, cucumber, spring onions and cheese). Very easy to prepare. The only item cooked is the pasta. Try it! ETA: Cpn, I didn't know that face palm equals lying. Thanks for this piece of very important info on male body language . IP: Logged |
