I was reading an article and it refered to the Digital Beyond. A peek at it and was astounded that one can send e mails/texts after you die. Other subjects are "What happens to your Facebook account when you die?" or "Mourners Turn To Mobile Phones To Remember Deceased" Weirdness. http://www.thedigitalbeyond.com/ ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

For more interest perhaps I should have titled it "Call Loved Ones From Beyond The Grave " ? ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

I'm on my mother's computer, and having trouble loading some things in. My wireless broke earlier. :/ IP: Logged |

quote: In an added twist, Jacobs was buried with his cell phone fully charged. Mourners were startled when the first post-mortem call arrived during the burial service. Jacob’s wife, Marian Seltzer, even had Jacobs’ headstone engraved with his phone number. Family and friends continue to leave voice messages for Jacobs, taking comfort in this facsimile of his presence.
I think I would have passed out, had that happened to me. I'd freak if I'd just buried someone, and then I got a call from them. IP: Logged |

Cool JuniI'm working on a site that immortalises you. Not my site but one I've joined. You can create a digital avatar of yourself, 3D with a few different frames. You then install your life's work as time goes by. Everything. So this digital version of YOU exists forever and if people want to know something, they can just type it in and ask and ....I will attempt to answer. Not really sure how it's going to work out I will post the link to the site later on, it's a work in progress.

Wow SunChild, what an undertaking. It sure will save time in the future when the next generations decide to trace their roots. To hear someones voice after death can be un-nerving (like in the article) or comforting. I had a friend who passed and the night before she did, she phoned me and the answering machine took it. I left that message to listen to for a year or two. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |
