If I was doing it for myself and not for others, and it served a good purpose , I'd do it.
For myself- I have big boobs and sometimes they get in the way and are more of a nuisance than a blessing.
Big Boobs have been known to create back problems, difficulty breathing, and posture problems in women, So i can see why someone would want to have surgery to reduce them.
I know a man who had surgery for bigger penile girth, him and his wife enjoy it and are having fun.. no issues between them, and he didn't have self esteem issues before the surgery.. so I can't see the issue with it.

I feel the issue underneath it all should be processed. For example getting bigger boobs or a new face won't help you get to the root of self esteem issues.

I have many great friends who have had SRS . The emotional build up of experiencing life before and after SRS is intense and requires a lot of working-through.
While i know SRS is not really the same as a woman just wanting bigger boobs, i still feel it was important enough to bring up in this discussion since it is connected to my perspective of Emotional/mental Healing.

i have large boobs too and a history of back problems from both sides of my family. i also have knee problems that i got from my dad, but i think my boobs may also contribute to the pain. i did consider a reduction once but at the time i wasnt fully physically developed so i decided against it and never seriously thought about it since...but plastic surgery for personal, self esteem, and beauty reasons? absolutely not, i am who i am and changing my appearance changes who i am

I have lost over 140 pounds.
More to go.
Some folks need it for loose skin after big weight losses though.
I think I'll be fine without it......so far so good.....just gotta keep losing and give it time.
I would not mind a bit of a face lift though.
just take off a decade or so.
LOL!
Or just say the heck with a face lift!
I am more than my looks!

To each their own, if it makes you feel better and you can afford it, go for it.

I used to have this gorgeous, blond surfer boy, boyfriend,
anyway he was always bringing up his ex-girlfriend and her large "goddess" breast,
I actually started getting insecure because lets face it, I am a perfect 36
12, 12, 12

One night when we were out to Dinner we ran into her and since I had never seen her before, I must tell you I was at first shocked, then tickled pink
Yes she had big breast, but she also had a big stomach and an even bigger butt.

Suddenly surfer dude wasn't as appealing as I initially thought
I didn't stay with this guy long after that
and he probably went back to her.

the moral of this story is
be careful what you wish for

live and learn

NickiG, lucky girl, I only wish I had those kind of back problems.

Not me. No thanks.
I like working with my body not against it.

I'm talking about cosmetic surgery for cosmetic reasons... not surgery that is necessary for health reasons like a breast reduction.

some of you find that for health reasons you would be all for it but i find that none of you are at all, whatsoever, considering mental health... i find it interesting.

Don't need it for mental health.

What you see is what you get, in the physical!
If I were to be rejected by anyone who thought of me as unattractive.....
too fat, too old, whatever.....
to be their friend, to hang out with me,
and most importantly of all,
to be their lover/beloved.......
Then the other person(s)
are too shallow to be of any importance to me.
Their loss.
Not mine.
I have NEVER rejected a person because of appearance nor age as a friend.
In the lover arena.....
I have been with folks several decades older,
and or morbidly obese, amputees, paraplegics, deformed, severely scarred, artificial body parts/rib cage, legs, head plates, albino, one eyed, blind, very old/up to over 100, men/women, other races.......
It simply boggles my mind that many folks cannot see beyond their eyes and ideas of who is worthy of love and or friendship,
simply because they do not fit the ideal.
I just don't get that kind of mindset personally.

Yeah, scary huh?

(I added to my post above btw)

Poor girl.....lots of mental/emotional issues there it seems.
I can understand though.....
if a person truly hates their body.....
but yeah.....serious troubles there.
I have never rejected any person based on their appearance.
Not in my nature to do so.
However have had self hatred of my body.
Done feeling that way!

I would date an alien chick.

Does cutting one's hair count as plastic surgery?
