Ah, marriage...not a fan. So, is anyone here happily married? What are the keys to a happy marriage? Is there such a thing as happily ever after? I've never been married or even engaged. I guess maybe I never will be. Is it wrong to not care about that fact? Anyway, I just don't see the appeal to making a relationship a contractual thing. What's the big deal? Opinions?IP: Logged |

I cant wait to get married!!!!!! (once divorced because I screwed up a long time ago)I guess I really love the idea of marrying my true love. There are a ton of reasons to do it legally. Insurance, spousal rights (ie: if they are dying in the hospital a "girlfriend" has zero rights), tax reasons, etc. However, i love the promises made to one another. If you really find your life partner... IP: Logged |

Actually, most studies show that generally speaking marriage is beneficial to both people in a lot of ways. Emotionally, financially, spiritually and even as far as health and life expectancy.IP: Logged |

I should also correct that and say: not just with one person, but with ANY person. A great number of people vs. a few would not make a difference, except for probably adding more fire to my A.D.D.IP: Logged |

Marrige leads to divorce half the time. And divorce is destructive...emotionally, financially, and healthwise.IP: Logged |

I will add that of course marriage isn't for everyone . There is nothing wrong with you if you don't want to get married or it doesn't appeal to you. It's going to appeal to some people much more than others. I don't know what it is about me that makes me believe in it so strongly even after surviving a VERY bad marriage and divorce. IP: Logged |

Yes... I wish it were harder to get married. It would make the less serious folks think twice. IP: Logged |

Yes. We should make people complete 1,000 hour program in intimacy and in-depth education about their partner, complete an obstacle course, and live on a deserted island together for 30 days before tying the knot. That would probably fix the marriage issues. IP: Logged |

They aren't crazy until they date me. Haha! My strong Pluto placement has a way of getting people to reveal their true selves. Sometimes, it's not so pretty...but I'd rather see the truth than wear rose-colored glasses. And sometimes the true self is a rare jewel and becomes one of my besties.IP: Logged |
