ok so, my most recent ex called me some time ago wanting to get back together but the last time we spoke he was being very dishonest with me...i still care for him but i dont like lieswhat should i do? ------------------

Sometimes when a person realizes what they have lost they will do anything back to get it. For some it is the thrill of getting that "possession" or "person" back and while a change takes place it is only temporary (in my experience). I would think of what you went through when you were with him, the pain you felt concerning his lies / dishonesty and ask yourself if he can truly change. IP: Logged |

generally i would say " a leopard doesn't change his spots" but SOME DO. my father in law was messing round with someone when my MIL was in hospital with eclampsia and two unborn sons...HIS MIL threatened to get his legs broken if he didn't STOP immediately. not only did he stop but as his wife says, he has not stopped making up to her for it since...that was ONLY 50 years ago, though!so i would say it probably depends on what kinds of lies and cheating were involved, were they typical behaviour or just once or a couple of times, and what motivated that behaviour? in the beginning he was honest, funny, a hard working guy...i thought he was the kind of guy that could take care of his girl and protect her------------------

i would say trust your gut...don't ever ignore it when your gut tells you not to trust a certain person, instinct is usually right. don't be pushed or pressured then you kinda know not for the best... make sure it's what you want.whatever your instincts are is the right thing. you wouldn't be asking if you were 100 percent about him. take your time, you are young, no hurry at all! That's a tough one. People can change, but it's typically rare--so rare that I always say that people never change. A powerful experience can cause change, and sometimes change occurs over a long span of time, but major change concerning personality, character, and integrity is a huge leap.IP: Logged |

i recently met a guy a few days ago...we have been talking since and he seems like a very nice guy...i think i want to give him a chance and let down my ex as nicely as i can...i believe it is time to move on------------------
