I still have feelings for this guy, but I don't think it is love. It is more of goodwill and concern.

Initially, I thought that he probably wasn't the right person for me. We clicked however. I thought that I had found the one. Some issues came up after a year. I found that I probably had to wait 5-8 years for him. He was also not career-driven. He wanted me to move over to his country, saying that he would support me. I knew he would have a problem holding a job based on his qualifications. I was unhappy about it and at the prospect of leaving my family. In addition to that, my heart told me he was not the one.

The arguments grew. I initially thought I could ignore my heart's message and work things out, but I was wrong. I don't want to wait for nothing. So I broke it off. I know I made the right choice listening to my heart, although it was painful for me and more so for him.

Moving this to Sweet Peas.
You might want to post it in Soul Unions.

I can definitely relate to what you have shared here.
I feel that the almost right, could maybe work,
are the most heartbreaking,
especially when the caring and love is real,
and can talk with each other well.
However as you indicated,
logistics, lifestyle, motivations, willingness to compromise/adapt or not,
and unrealistic takes on life and how to live/support and so forth,
Well,
so much can sadly kibosh even the best of connections, even with deep love.
Sometimes we just have to let go for the best for ourselves and others.
In a few years,
things can change,
for you, for him, for anyone.
So if possible keep in casual touch and until then,
get on with your own life.

Thanks! ^-^

You are right, things may change, though I think it's over because there are too many issues. I have to move on, just as you said.

Love can't exist well without the roots for solid commitment, I guess.

Love and blessings to you Marina123

PS.
Love can still be there,
but often the taking it to the next level just may not be realistic when all things are factored in.
That is sad, but that is often how it is.
