BTW... I generally don't consider periods or menstrual blood gross or horrible or any of those things. I appreciate what having a period means as a woman. I'm thankful on many levels that I still have a period because my husband and I are trying to conceive before I get too old. I use a DivaCup and I have more contact with my menses than most women who look at me in horror if I mention "DivaCup" to them because "ewwwww, your period is in a CUP?!?!?!". Most of the time it's really not 'ewwwww' unless I'm having a day where it's so overwhelming that it's just that... overwhelming. And it is not unusual or odd at all for women to have issues like mine - especially for women over 35. Mine is not an unusual or peculiar case. Most women/people just won't talk about it. And no matter how I feel about my period and how natural it is to have a period - it IS embarrassing when you are at a party and someone asks "What is that on your pants??" and you realize you've soaked through your protection and pants... again... LOL You can tell my period is due (it was due yesterday so I'm waiting). I get a little emotional and introspective. I have to worry if my period didn't come yesterday then maybe Monday my flow will be too heavy to go to work... again. I'm also supposed to have a saline vaginal sonogram on Monday. Will I have to cancel that because I'm passing clots the size of golfballs? That is sincerely not "Woe is me" but just what has to be dealt with by many women. IP: Logged |

Thank you Randall. It is just that things on most fronts in my life have become worse. I do not want to keep bemoaning publicly. For now I simply want folks to bear with me, and to please have patience when I do not reply right off to everyone etc., or return private messages right off. I love coming here and do keep watch on forums I moderate, even though I do not always post always. On that note sigh must go down again. Thank you for your kind words. {{{hugs}}} Lexxi------------------ NumeroLexigrams ~I remember, therefore I am immortal ~Lexxigramer IP: Logged |

Aww Lexx...you are loved, no matter what. I don't want to sound empty here but it will work out for good. You have felt the change yourself now hold on. And if you ever need to talk, we are here. Don't think for a second you are burdening us by sharing your troubles. You are only allowing us a chance to love you more.

ARGH! I fcuking hate that site. It is like the worst, most offensive collection of the most racist, sexist, privileged minor sh!t a human brain can spout. That is a clear example of WOE IS ME. Health problems are definitely not something one can shrug away. My last to last period, I was in so much pain, my vision blacked out and I passed out. I find the site helpful because it reminds me to be grateful. If someone is realizing that he/she is being ridiculous, and is laughing at himself for it, that doesn't bother me. However, if people are seriously upset about some of those things posted, then yeah, they could stand to learn a bit about gratitude.

Those are the worst. I've had the same thing happen too many times, but usually vision just goes fuzzy and I hyperventilate and feel like I am on the verge of blacking out. It's a scary feeling. First comes the sweating and ripping clothes off, then after puking for awhile I'm freezing and shaking. Usually it's in the bathroom and I'm puking uncontrollably, weak and trying to hold onto something to stay steady and not faint, afraid I will pass out while crouching over the toilet and hit my head on the bowl and be knocked unconscious and no one will find me for awhile. LMAO. Yes, I get that, too. Two days leading up to it, I find that I'm having to run to the bathroom, and the body is gassy. I used to have that awful pain, but only occasionally get it now. I'd try to knock myself out with something like Sleepytime Tea, until the pain passed. I'd still have to struggle to the kitchen and wait whilst the water boiled, the tea brewed, etc. In agony. I remember almost passing out when I was slicing raw liver for the dogs, years ago, when it was also that time of the month. I was so tired, and it was so gross and slippery, and it reminded me of that. I find that's where a lot of the pain comes from, although warmth makes it worse. I can't use a heating pad for the pain, and need cool air directed at my back instead. Stress makes it worse, too. IP: Logged |

Same here. lol I have a hard time dealing with raw meat. *throws up in mouth* I'd love to make my dog some awesome "raw dog food" but know I can't handle it!! :OI should mention that if you can take some ibuprophen at least a day or two before, it's supposed to help. And I notice it does, if I'm regular and catch it in time. 200 - 400 mgs before bleeding starts often alieveates the symtoms to some degree, if you can catch them. Got to be quick about it. all of the over the counter pain relievers are extremely damaging to the liver too. I hate that I have to take such a high dose for it to work, because I know it's hurting other organs at the same time I'd suffer through it if I could, but I can't. And that's saying a lot. So I take them. Get through it and my liver pays the price. IP: Logged |

My period pain makes me want to climb the walls. It's the one time of the month I dread! Sometimes it's so bad I feel like ripping out my uterus. Besides the excruciating pain, there's the fever and vomiting. The pains last from about six to twelve hours. You have no desire to eat or drink anything nor do you want anyone touching you because it feels like the pain is pulsing through your entire body. Anti Inflammatories didn't help. My period pains became bad after I turned fourteen going on fifteen. Docs suggested to go onto a contraceptive.. hell no! What good will that do? It will make you get your periods less or not at all but it's NOT CURING the problem docs! One doc told me usually such severe period pains disappear after a woman has a baby. I don't have kids so I don't know how much truth is in it. Then there's the herbal route, proper diet and excersize. Been there, done that and doesn't help. Bleh. So, I sympathize women who endure this every month. It puts you out for the first day or two, affecting work, school etc because you need to take that day off. I dislike when people say, "Take a pill and you'll be ok." BS! No one knows what it's like unless they experience or witness it and a popping a pain killer doesn't help!

I am so sorry ladies for all you go through. My mother has had these issues her whole menstuating life, so I have witnessed it first hand with what she deals with. She is almost 53 and STILL having these issues. Is there any culprit, health wise, that makes some women more likely to have these horrific periods than others? My sister is starting to have pretty bad ones now, after three children and at age 33. I wonder.. IP: Logged |
