Was wanting to get a lower lip ring, but I am open to other suggestions. Anyone ever see a guy with a cartilage piercing (top of the ear)? Or a nose piercing? Those little diamonds look cool in the nose...or maybe a light purple one.

As I said before, one can never go wrong with an eyebrow piercing.

Personally I like he spiked ones like this: ,

but the barbells look cool, too. Rings are kind of passe and feminine. I would always recommend going with the left side. It's the better choice in the majority of cases imo.

Yeah, the left side is always my choice. I agree about rings appearing more feminine, although with the lip, it can look masculine with one. A wrestler (current world champ) called CM Punk has one (bottom left lip corner).

Oh yeah I'd forgotten to mention the rings looking bad - specifically on the eyebrow. On the lip it looks cool, it also looks cool on the nose imo.

An appropriately sexy number and placement, in my biased opinion.

I'd like to stray from the topic for a sec to say..

Any form of self expression is an art. Art is not only confined t
o the ability to draw, sketch, paint or write poetry (and yes, I'm an artist too and I know the passion and soul that goes into it).

Fashion is an art.
The ability to apply make up a certain way is an art.
Tatts are an art.
Making fragrances is and art.
Even cooking and baking is an art.
The list goes is endless.

IMO any craft is an art. Piercings to me fall in the same category. It is a form of body art which has even played a role in many cultures, to them enhancing one's beauty.

The person chooses what is aesthetically attractive to them and where they want it placed and the observer makes the same decision to what appears attractive to them.

With that said, what and where you want your piercing is a personal choice. Opinions will differ from person to person. At the end of the day, it's what you think will look good. Whatever you decide will be the right choice for YOU as an individual.

That's my two cents worth.

OUCH!

No, I'm not a fan, either. I see lip ring and immediately suspect the person has sustained major psychological trauma. Maybe that's my problem, but it's how I react, and you asked.

Plus doesn't food get stuck in it?

Very well articulated, Charmaine. Thank you for the perspective of an artist who is a painter.

I'm sorry you feel that way, chamaine.

I only agree with you to a small degree. To each their own.

If a person buys all the supplies and ingredients to bake a cake and does their own thing, has never baked a cake before and just wings it, mixing the ingredients and putting it in the oven at a temp they guess might work - they are still not a baker or culinary artist. They may have tried, put in a good effort, but you cannot call them a talented cake baker. They are not adept at the art of cooking or baking for simply trying, a few times, alone.

A person can express themself by dressing a certain way or dressing oddly just to stand out, but you would not automatically call them a fashion designer or stylist (or "ARTIST") just because they dressed differently or sewed their own clothes or tried to be different by wearing a piercing.

A person can apply eyeshadow, mascara and blush, but that doesnt automatically mean they are a make-up artist.

A person can cut and color people's hair, but that does not suddenly make them a talented hairstylist.

Yes, the list is endless.

Do you see where I"m going, and what I originally meant now?

If not, that's okay. I know where you are coming from and why you feel the need to sick up for someone, so it's okay. I know where it's coming from. It's sweet of you.

A person can pick up a microphone and sing into it, but it does not make them a a vocalist or great singer (artist).

Anyone can strum a guitar or hit keys on a piano, but you would not call them a musician just because they can do so.

Then what makes those persons artists? That they make money? That they achieve fame or acclaim? Art is in the eye of its creator. Many great singers never get a recording contract. Are they not artists? I have seen some real aesthetic crap, but I realize that's just my opinion, and I would never say it isn't art.

Cool beans, T.

I have expressed my opinions and views regarding creative people. We can agree to disagree.

I kind of get what you are trying to communicate and I do not mind if others differ with their opinion.

Regardless of personal views, I had to express how I felt about the topic when reading the other thread.

Your words were harsh and angry, appearing to be an attack on all others who are artists in different categories.

Anyhow, it's one of those topics that could make for a good debate.

I hope you have a good birthday.

Yep! And double-Aries Mars/Venus, Taurus Asc & Merc, Jupiter & Sun conj. in the 2nd, with his Saturn tramping alll over his chart. I think that last one and his Moon and Neptune conj. in the 8th tend him towards being super sensitive.

And I'm so excited! He's been away on business for the past month (actually up in your neck of the woods, outside of Toronto) and is flying back in today

I Sag moons They're actually my favourite men (although fireworks tend to go off, what with my Pisces moon). So handsome and devil-may-care those guys are! Love 'em. They're so genuine

Here is my Saggie moon guy:

Similar piercings to yours, lol. Although he took out his earring. Awesome that you guys have been reunited! Hope you two had fun

Why thank you! I know I'm a lucky lass
His Mars is Aquarius and Venus is Cappy. He does have Jupiter and Saturn in Scorpio, though. Ascendant is Aquarius. He's a double Saggy (Sun & Moon). I just love Saggy men myself, the more Saggy the better, actually. He's also very Piscean - sun and moon conjunct Neptune. He's a musician, a stoner and a dreamer and yes as you might imagine does not always inhabit the real world/reality .
