What is it with some women and greeting cards? I have seen women become irate if a man forgot to buy them a birthday card, Valentine card, anniversary etc. Even if the Guy bought them something amazing or took them on a vacation for her birthday, anniversary or whatever the occasion may be. So just curious what's the big deal with a piece of paper?IP: Logged |

I'm a woman and what you say doesn't apply to me. Though a wild guess on my part is a card is something she can show her friends whereas it's harder to show off a trip (especially if it's a trip much more appealing to you than to her). Of course what you consider an amazing gift and what she considers amazing may also be very different. IP: Logged |

You should thank God it's a $2.95 Hallmark card. Wait till you turn 50 years old, and it'll be a $2995 or $29995 piece of jewelry.IP: Logged |

Thank God it's not with a Taurus lady, or it'll be $299,999.95 plus tips plus fees plus interest plus taxes, and she'll call it an "investment." {that's been my experience } IP: Logged |

I'm sentimental, but cards aren't that big of a deal to me. When I get them I either put them up somewhere as decor or store them away, either way too many ends up in being an unsightly clutter I'd rather not deal with. I've got nothing against them, I'd guess I find them as appealing as post cards from someone on a trip ("oh, look, someone spared a moment and some loose change thinking of me" ), but I'd much rather have something that shows they know and care about me, and anything that creates pleasant memories (such as a picnic or going to the beach) is far more preferable IMO. However, an especially sweet and thoughtful card is very different (that is, they obviously put a lot of thought into it and then either made it themselves or extensively personalized a well chosen card they bought). For example a girl gave me one she made herself with a paper wheel on it and as I turned the wheel it would show phrases on the paper underneath on how wonderful I was. That one I will always treasure. IP: Logged |

I like fountain pens and writing stuff. I'm more likely to write a note on my statio than a card. Oh and I am a total cheese ball so prepare for the mush!IP: Logged |
