I thought it was just my husband who's like that.

"40. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out."

True . If you're in a good relationship then it is much MUCH better as time goes on.

i agree 100%. i think that rule is talking about how some women expect men to continue jumping through hoops like we tend to have to do in the initial stages of the relationship.

Have to? Nobody's forcing you to jump through hoops. You're choosing to play by society's idiotic rules. In my relationships I expect honesty and genuineness from the beginning; f--- the games, I can't stand them. Be yourself, all the time, and you'll eventually attract someone who likes you for who you are, not a show you can put on.
...I'm hoping that'll work, anyway! If it doesn't, in any case, my opinion is, it's better to be single and happy with myself as I am, than hooked up with someone who expects me to be putting on a show and jumping through hoops!

Then that's why God made you an Aquarius, to be a standard-bearer for the future!

Honestly I find some of these to be sexist and generalizing. For fun or not, if there was a 41 rules women wish men knew I'd think men would take that as sexist too.

there actually is a list of rules women think men should know i think, look it up.also heres my belief on generalizations, i think alot are atleast partly true or else we wouldnt have them to begin with them, problem is some people get offended and say " well,im not like that, so it isnt true." this mentality bugs me because i can understand why people do have certain generalizations, for example i can understand why women often say"all men want is sex", because that has been her experience, but at the same time i think they should understand that not all men ar that way, just as i understand that not all women are like the ones described in the list of rules, but at the same time does that totally discredit the experiences some men have ? for example the one rule about the toilet seat , i personally know alot of women who get outraged at a man if he leaves the toilet seat up, i also know some who don't, but i have never seen a man complain about whether the toilet seat is up or down. I really think this list is meant to give some men who may have encountered these sorts of things a good laugh.

i really think the culture we live in can be very confusing for men. Because most men are raised to be that way, but than you hear women say "i'm strong and independent, i dont need a man!" than you have women who expect and feel entitled to chivalry, and any man who isnt is a loser. to make matters even more confusing some women fall into both categories. i personally have had several experiences where women were very very b*tchy towards me for opening a door for them, also have had experiences where i have gotten dirty looks for not opening doors for the ladies, so it gets confusing thats a big reason why i try to hurry into places when nobody is coming in or going out so i avoid those situations.

Generalizations have a expiration date; they can momentarily change simply based on the next passing emotion of the person making said generalization. Even if certain ones were developed based on a particular experience there not always relative to every man or woman because of regional, cultural, ethnic, economic and social differences. Some generalizations aren't formed for humor either, some are made just to discriminate, exclude and or alienate certain individuals both people who fit within XYZ slim categories and those that don't. Yes I understand this list was made for humor and some men and women may find this amusing but this kind of subject based list can easily become interchanged with age, economic status, religion, or ethnicity i.e. less palpable subjects.

I love it when men hold doors open for me. I think it's sweet and I always sincerely say thank you because I never expect it but I always appreciate it.

I've also held the doors open for plenty of other men & women. Men are usually surprised and happy about it The older women generally thank me and the younger ones are dismissive.

That's sad. It doesn't mean I think they are weak - it's just polite and a nice thing to do.

yea i agree , its just a simple polite gesture and i dont mind doing it. but a few women have made it clear that they dont want it, so im kinda hesitant.

^ Me, too, I think it's nice.

But I open the door if I get there first...even for people besides my husband.

Scandalous, I know.

My children open doors for people. In my neck of the woods, everyone's happy when someone stands there at the restaurant entrance (or wherever) with the door propped open, smiling and welcoming people in and out, acting like they own the place. Everyone loves the doorstop.
