It's possible that she feels frustrated because you're misunderstanding her and lashing out in frustration. In this case I'd say no, she wasn't trying to hurt your ego she was just being immature.

Or it's easier to lash out at you than your ideas. In that case yes, she's attacking your ego in the hope that you don't challenge her ideas anymore.

There's no way to know based on this thread.

Yes Pixie those are some good points, i think thats also what was going on, she was basicaly just trying to shut me up - she is a political person, very much favours her party and I dislike politics, so she knew she could not fight me on any real issue so she lashed out in this very personal way.
