I really have had some pretty major distortions and misunderstandings, and am hoping that more conversation with these people will help me get on the path to seeing things as they are and not how my anxiety scrambles and encodes them. I also admitted to them that my distortions and misunderstandings had led me to be unkind, explained how anxiety distorts things for me, asked forgiveness/if there's anything I need to do to make it right, and am hoping to get back on track. I wasn't actually being avoided or disliked at all, and it was shocking to me to learn that, so I really do need to clear things up and learn from them what is and isn't real regarding interactions. The last thing I give people are platitudes. That is why I am not answering as platitudes are cheap, cheap, cheap to me. I hate them, so I resist dealing in them. Your questions are all very important. Just by your asking them sets up the process of your beginning to grow. At this stage, I think you need to keep talking and asking, as that is probably something you have never had a chance to do. Sweet peas came about for that reason, in part. It doesn't help, either, that people have different ideas about what's creepy and annoying and what isn't, that they don't just come out and tell you, and that it changes from person-to-person. Every person has a new set of rules. Still, I'd like to hear perspectives, just so that I can keep other possible explanations in mind and not always just jump to the one negative one that I know. doommlord Moderator Posts: 1376 From: israel Registered: Dec 2011	posted August 29, 2012 01:43 PM i used to feel the same way i had a feeling that people didnt like me when they met me and how stupid was i that i said this and that and they dont actually want to talk to me the bad news is....that some might feel this way no matter what you do... the good news....that as long as you keep communicating to others you become less sensitive about how others percive your image and allow yourself to express freely...what actually makes people feel that you are not "trying too hard" or being creepy and thus be more interested in communicating with you i dont know how long it takes and it doesent work 100% as you will always keep an eye on the image you project....but it does get better the more you socialise thats my opinion at least i hope that you will feel better about the image you project and worry less ^^ IP: Logged
