Well....Christina's being crude again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhTdTFYlCOs Lindsay had a song called "i wanna be bad" and the lyrics were basically about just screwing some guy without caring much about anything else. I met a 70 year old guy who pointed out that in his day, women behaved like ladies and the profanity and tattoo's were saved for the sailors. I couldn't help but see his point of view and i agree. I can't say that i've heard any song by a male artist that flat out says the things christina has.. What is going on? She's cleaned up after dirrty but, now... ------------------ "To PLAY is human. To Rewind is divine." IP: Logged |

I admit that I fall into swearing sometimes, but I've gotten a lot better about it and really am trying to break the habit. (I'm around a lot of people who do it). I can enjoy an off-color joke (if it's not too over the top disgusting and vulgar) now and then, and am usually only really offended by a set of specific things, but to me, there's a difference between proper public behavior and what people do one-on-one/in private. In public, there are definitely manners and etiquette that should be observed. In private, it's OK to be a little more 'real', though being classy is still important. I'm not a fan of tattoos in general, or too many piercings, or ripped/sloppy clothing. The worst is when someone has a beautiful formal gown, and the ink is very distracting. My opinion is that if someone is going to have a tattoo, it should be small, beautiful, meaningful, and able to be easily covered up for professional and formal situations. I think it's good to maybe try a henna tattoo every now and then--something longer-lasting than a temporary one, but not permanent. If you end up not liking a tat, removal is painful and expensive, too. I don't think that people with tats are bad or anything, but it's just not my style personally. I don't like body mods, either--again, have nothing against those who do them, but I don't like how the style looks. I can deal with swearing better than vulgarity, but too much of either is really annoying. A word here and there is one thing, but when it's every word of every sentence, that's too much. I do not like too much crassness in a person. Once in awhile can be funny, but everyday, no. IP: Logged |

^ can you bob your head to a song that says she wants to f*ck your body? Lol..I have 4 small tattoo's and 3 of em i drew myself. I had 4 piercings which are all gone with two still open. I don't mind subtlety. I just still think that regardless of style or appearance, a man can still be a gentleman and a woman can behave as a lady. Maybe it's the sagittarian lyrics.. Doesn't care where he's from Just wants to know at who's place? Nothing about that is artistic if not just lyrics that were written on a bathroom stall. Idk.. Mindfckd. IP: Logged |

I was shamed about swearing by a guy who said"Aren't you a Christian?" I apologized because he was 100% right. I use substitutes now ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

At least the man wasn't a baptist. A girl i met is a southern girl. Baptist raised and she tried dating a man who was of the same faith and she spent the WHOLE date biting her tongue trying to not to say anything when all he told her was that women were meant to serve men and that they didn't know the word of scripture and had no right to preach etc, etc.One of the funniest conversations i've had once she called me immediately post-date. People take that "woman serve the man" wrong. Men take it wrong, mostly

Mainly, I'm just not a fan of big, flashy, all-over ink, most of the time. I do run into exceptions now and then, though. Not often, but once in awhile. If a tattoo can be covered up and is small, though, then that doesn't bug me, as long as it's not ugly. I don't really like those kinds of lyrics. I don't mind a swear or off-color joke if it's more subtle or if it's done in a cute, playful way. What bugs me is like really harsh, hateful, vulgar, super-violent, or really demeaning of women lyrics. IP: Logged |

to my understanding, though, aren't swears just frowned-upon but not outright forbidden? like, people are advised not to, but it's not technically a sin--just bad form/manners? IP: Logged |

I doubt people with tattoos care at all if random strangers don't approve of their ink because it's not the "appropriate" kind of ink.Thank goodness for the people that step outside the mold. <3 IP: Logged |
