I am seeing this. It is scary to be emotionally intimate, which has to be done, if you let people love you( and you them)

You have to know who you are and SHOW who you are. However, love is the true food of life.

When you are abused, you can stay too long trying to get the few people who don't like you to change their minds, when you have a whole feast of others who love you.

That is my current lesson, as well. People do this because they are trying to make the parent who could not "see" them, finally, see them.

My current lesson is to walk away from the few( very few) people who don't like me and embrace the many that do.

You are a lovely person. Your only problem is confidence which you WILL get as you Mod your Forum, as it will demand the best of you. In your struggles( which you will have) and your mistakes( which you will have) you will find your core and your soul.

Then, many of these issues will become clearer imho

Yes, a grand total of two people like me in this forum. At least, the definitive list sums up to less than the number of fingers on one hand. lol The is a fundamental incompatibility in the thought process and outlook on most matters that affect my life.

Yes, Jesus did not stick around ALL people. Some Christians have that wrong and bang their heads against the wall with people they should have walked away from a long time, ago.

This is just one in a series of life lessons. May I still be able to hobble around upright by the time I really learn

I like you too, yta so that makes three I don't know you very well, but a lot of what you write resonates with me.

Ami thank you for this thread, it's a tough lesson but very much a crucial one. It is really hard to break down barriers when one has been very hurt. Yet it can be so lonely and sad to be numb, behind those walls.

Yeah

what's frustrating is that things go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth

good then bad, good then bad, good then bad

I hate all of the emotional being pulled and then pushed over and over again in a cycle.

I'm just so fed up right now.

Practical question? How( if any) has being a Mod effected you/changed you?

I hear you, RP. being a Mod helps you to deal with all sorts of life things like that. I have made a lot of progress which has transferred to my real life BUT it is very, very slow lol

Yesterday, things were bad again, but they got better with a few people; I had the chance to talk to them and work that out.

Also talked to a third-party about doing something that could alleviate an ongoing problem that I've had with a few people, so that will help me out A LOT.

I think the whole thing about life is ego reduction. However, ego reduction comes from making mistakes. If you don't, you get stuck in feeling like you have to be perfect. Many people are stuck there like little robots. I think the fear of making mistakes makes people cling to the safety of trying to be perfect, so they never have to hurt from rejection or humiliation. I understand this, totally, as I did this for a long time. However, if you want to be your own person, you must fail your way to person hood, in my experience and opinion.

I can see you learning and growing a LOT, RP. You can assert yourself, with confidence, now.

You go, Gurl
