I think also shows that people read faces more carefully than they read text. That girl looks nice.

In real life, she probably is nice.

The men who were coming onto her picture probably would also like the real personality of the real girl.

Also, Tara is a sensible girl's name. I don't think I'm alone in putting stock in names. If her name was Candee or Desiree or something, people would "believe in" her insanity faster. But with a classic name and face, people are going to be thinking "classic" from the start.

Show me a picture of a clean-cut, smiling guy with a name like John, and I'm going to be biased towards his text, assuming that "somewhere in there," he is normal.

Point is, I think the experiment's not too scientific.

lol it does prove that most people dont put a lot of thought into a partner if they have a pretty face .

Most people? Actually, who knows how many men were attracted to her but read her comments and decided not to contact her? It was a very informal study you know.

doubt.people who look nice in
photos arent always soo nice, I
know this from lots of experience lmao. heck I look mean in photos and I'm not mean lol.

I feel pretty certain that the vast majority (if not all) guys who tried to hook up with her were more interesting in a brief fling or even one night stand (laced with selfish lust at best) than actually dating her, let alone marrying.

There might even be a desire for having the best "crazy girlfriend" story, too...

this shows that you need to listen/read what people are telling you. I knew a guy in high school who was a big time player and had lots of girls after him, he broke lots of girls hearts. the funny part was he put "I don't respect women" right on his myspace for all the world to see. the girls would have saved themselves lots of heartache if they would have taken notice of that, but I guess they were more concerned with his "Hott" shirtless pics.

I was never that good looking, not that I know of, but in high school a lot of girls loved my boyfriend. Some were much better looking than me, but he was like, "No way, I can't go out with that airhead, and that other girl's voice annoys me" and so on.

Is he that rare??

Come to think of it, my college boyfriend was the same way. Good looking and in demand, yet he passed over truly pretty girls for very average little me.

One girl who was obsessed with him was SO PRETTY, and I just hated her, because she was a flake and always trying to steal him. But he said the same thing, "Not even tempted by that chick."

So my life experience taught me that guys don't always care that much about looks.

Maybe I am just the rare plain girl who can beat out the competition. Doubt it, though.

The guys are just probably looking for a quick fling if they arent paying any attention to her personality or what she has to say.

Agree with how there might have been other guys that didnt contact her because of the things she said.

faith.. you are pretty, dont be modest lol.. i'll explain something that i explained on here before(and i received lots of hate for it) but its the truth, lots of pretty or hot girls arent very nice or kind. they receive tons of attention from guys and develop huge egos as a result. from what i've seen on here you seem pretty nice and humble, that coupled with your pretty looks makes you quiet the catch, so its not a suprise to me that guys chose you over other girls.

Also, there is this misconception that crazy women make great lovers..that they are suppose to be uninhibited.

To be frank other than being pretty - some of these comments are hints that she is having problems... that she is hurt/in distress... such as "I slash my wrists"..
This sounds like the "damsel in distress"... and there are men out there who want to save someone.

But of course if she was a particularly bad looking woman - in distress... she would get less messages.

Aqua Guy - In my experience people who have had very easy, uneventful lives (everything handed to them on a silver platter etc)... are the ones who may be more egotistical.

One can be a beautiful Supermodel... but if she grew up in really bad conditions in say.. Somalia - before she was adopted... and taken to a Western country.... then, clearly she would not be such a superficial person.

Life experience has a much bigger impact on people's general personality - rather than their aesthetic appearance imo

You should never judge people based on appearances either, before you hear their story... It's a pretty nasty thing to do. I'm just letting you know - because I have seen many guys out there who seem to have this idea that good looking women are like plastic Barbies - who have had NO life-experience at all... and who have not been in pain or been through negative things.

i know its not true in every single case, but there is alot of truth to it.i never said they dont go through negative things lol.i'm just stating my experience (and i think lots of guys would agree witrh me) and my experience has been that the prettier a girl is, the more likely she is to be stuck up. does that mean all pretty women are stuck up? no! but it is pretty common, thus the stereotype.

Good point.

Aquaguy, thanks for your kind words, but you really would have to see the pictures. I'm not lying or being modest...even some girls I knew at the time told me they were kind of baffled with my "luck" getting cute boyfriends.

And if it were true that guys always went for the prettier girls, famous guys especially wouldn't stay married to their aging wives, but of course some do because...well, for one thing, love is real.

well the picture you posted on here looked pretty to me. lol guys don't always go for the hottest girls, a cute girl with a good personality would be more appealing to most guys.

Companionship? Or is that part of love as well?

I do not need companionship tho. At least not that I know of. Who knows when I'm older.

^ Is who a Leo, sand?

My cute ex-boyfriends?

My long-term college boyfriend was a Leo sun, yes, but the others weren't. The best looking guys I dated were Taurus and Virgo suns, so let's assume synastry gave me an advantage. As it gives everyone an advantage, with some people...which means looks aren't everything....which is my whole point....

And okay, you're human, you'll stay with a girl if you like her enough...your secret's safe with me!
