Felt the need to share this:I bike commute in the Mtns in December, it's very very cold. Whatever.
The Bywater is a place down the mtn from my home where I stop late at night to have a beer and warm up before peddling up the mtn home.
Late one Sunday night, after peddling all around downtown Asheville, I headed in for my usual..Shiva IPA and a bag of smoked almonds.
Newb bartendress was working and she was closing early, around 12:40 am or so, and she was rude. Happen to know the owner and knew his policy was "we are open, no matter what, until 2 am"
Asked for Shiva, and she looked at me and said "we are closing in 20 minutes and I don't feel comfortable serving you"
Uhm, fine, how about a plain hot cider?
She had stowed it in the cooler
Nice, fast forward and I'm chatting with one of the owners daughters (22 yrs old) who works there p/t while going to college.
Mentioned the story and my desire for her not to spread as I wanted no one to get into trouble.
2 weeks later and the bartendress is nowhere to be seen.
Now a part of me wonders if I wanted that to happen, and a part of it is just the way the bar biz works.
I'm not sure if I'm smirking and meant for this to happen, after all my motto is "people talk", or if it was accidental.
Ah, scorpio, hard to know if it was a manipulation, honesty, or what, I envy those earth signs sometimes.
