Just to clarify, this is not a sex Forum. Intimacy is a part of life, and it is only one part of this Forum; when presented as a part of this Forum, it should be done so in good taste. Talk about your c*ck crosses that line. Understood? Read the Forum description. IP: Logged |

Half the discussions here are not even about intimacy. Not to be a wet blanket, most are pretty lewd and explicitly raunchy. There isn't even certification that one is 18 years old before gaining access to this section of the forum.

I feel partially responsible as a mod in this forum. I have not been here regularly or checking. ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

The 18 requirement is an informal warning due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter. It does not mean there should be explicit sexual matter. This is a Spiritual site. Adult topics should be handled in good taste. IP: Logged |

I mentioned it before and I'll ask it again...why do we even need a forum like this on Linda Goodman.com? It's chased many a good person away. I have also wondered numerous times why this one isnt password protected like one of the other ones is. Not that would keep youngsters out anyway, but is this type of forum best for a site devoted to Linda anyway? And young readers are already bombarded with enough sex and violence in their lives. Do they need to find it here too? There are plenty of other places on the web where one can get their sexual fix or discuss mental health matters in depth. Not saying these things should be taboo and not talked about here - for the most part (lately) it's been somewhat tame, but this has always been known as the "sex forum" here. Especially when it was first opened, everyone went wild and it was okay.
I had a couple of people email me (when i was still Moderating a few forms) about how disgusting they thought it was after I made a comment how gross it smelled in here. I caught some flack when I said it reeked in here like some sort of 70's orgy going on. Was getting a bit lewd and gross. So, it's interesting how it's not okay now. A few more thoughts I'd like to add, that have been going on for awhile now, but have to get to something atm. bbiab IP: Logged |

...that's just it - based on the description: quote: WARNING: This Forum is for mature themes meant for adults only, and by entering, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age--inside you will find topics like physical intimacy, understanding the differences between men and women, depression and other psychological disorders, suicide, the loss of a child, emotional/physical abuse, and anything of an adult-oriented nature; no one is too Lost to be Found...like Linda's sparkling blue and silver Rosary in the snow...just Go And Smell A Rose...or Sweet Peas In The Rain (Moderated by Lexxigramer, Ami Anne, charmainec, and Venus)
...and based on the discussion from most topics around this section of the forum... well, it's hard to say what's allowed or not... it's even more confusing when one topic which is very similar to others gets locked... :3 might be a subjective approach - but i won't get in to that - it's a "private" forum and the owner can act as he sees fit - u can't judge a host on his private propriety (you can try, but you can't win - even if you're right). I know only a handful of people here have read Linda's book Gooberz, and it's been like a decade since I have, but if you have, it gives you a better picture of what that woman was really all about and you might really wonder why this type of forum is really necessary here...When this forum came about, i had a flashback to the part in that book when she was feeling so low and brokenhearted and depressed...(I think it was Robert who she was seperated from (?)....and he was dating some saucy, sophisticated Scorpio.....and Linda was alone in her room in some frumpy oversized nightgown she always wore to bed with him and was imagining him with Scorpio-lady in her sexy lingerie and struggling with it, but at the same time knowing that's not the type of woman she was. & that's why we loved her. Point is, there's nothing wrong with being like Scorpio-lady, or discussing certain topics - don't get me wrong, but Linda was SO not into anything even slightly raunchy and I think some of the talk going on here would not only horrify her, but **** her off too (she did have a temper!). So, since it's a Linda site and she was rather angelic and sweet, I would hope a forum dedicated to her would have the same type of flavor... And that's it. Not looking down on anyone, but this is a site about all things Linda and she was a pretty sweet and innocent AND knowledgable LADY. LADY is the word here. & where's EmeraldOpal...? She'd know exactly what page in that book I'm talking about. LOL ;P IP: Logged |

It's not that it's not okay now. It's just that a few are crossing the line. Maybe the line has been blurred, and I will take the blame for that. These topics are not taboo. Depression, suicide, and intimacy (among others) can be discussed maturely. IP: Logged |

But that's just it.... why? Is that really necessary here? Like Liinda would have, keep it sacred. There's not enough talk of that aspect these days. (im going to get in trouble or made fun of for awhile for these comments.... IP: Logged |

^I suppose it's necessary since Mr. Randall is posting a thread to tell members to tone it down. I mean, there will always be the type, I think, so why not give them a slice of land play on? I dunno. I'm just here to have fun, IP: Logged |

Red, Yeah, there will always be that, but doesnt mean they need to be accommodated here. What's next? Going by that logic, the number of forums to be made up to please everyone could be endless. I mean, is this the time or place? Some things can be discussed privately amongst each other. All I'm saying is it's a Linda/astrology forum. Don't get too far away from that. IP: Logged |

I am here to learn and share and help. I am not here to get my jollies. If you want to have "just be here to have fun"; there are plenty of sex/dating/hook-up sites out there for that type of specific mainly sexual "fun". I am far from a prude. However this is not the forum/site for all out sexcapades for mere titillation and sexually explicit flirting.

I wondered who would have the guts to speak up and and remind all this is not a pornographic forum. At the risk of being labeled the police again; I informed Randall that things were getting out of hand here and at some other forums, such as Hearth And Home. I made some enemies the last time I informed Randall of OTT behavior. I take my moderating seriously and try to adhere to the rules of LindaLand. So hate me whoever wants to hate me for doing what a moderator is here to do. PS. I usually inform Randall rather than confront the culprits because I am not the only moderator or a moderator on all forums. I inform Randall and leave it to him to decide if my observations warrant looking into. Also I do not want to offend other moderators who are not noticing or not seeing a problem. So taking potential problems to Randall is usually my first move.

Lexxigramer; By saying that I'm here to have fun, I meant that I just kinda go with the flow, entertain whatever topic interests me. I don't think I've ever posted a saucy or explicit topic before. I'm not the type to seek naughty company haha!Any who, it doesn't really matter much to me personally if there is a new forum or what have you - I was speaking more from an angle of providing possible ideas concerning those who can't control their pelvises. If we're gonna just post warnings and reminders, fine by me. IP: Logged |
