i recently created a profile on one of those cougar sites, partly out of sh*ts and giggles and partly because people have always told me i need to try dating older women, so i figured why not give it a try...anywho, after looking at tons of profiles i noticed a pattern, almost 90% of these women are taller then average, like 5'8 plus.. do you know any cougars irl? are they tall too?

I like a girl who's two years older than me and we get along well, for whatever that's worth. She's like 5'8 maybe.

I am 5'2".
I married twice to men 15 years younger.
Had a serious relationship with a man about 1/2 my age.
There are more but those were the main ones to date.
I am 58 at the moment.
I attract younger men for some reason.
I do not go looking;
it just happens.
I am no sex pot looking stereotypical cougar type.
Short, very heavy, and disabled;
but in my offline life younger men are usually very comfortable with me.
I do not play games and I am confident in myself despite my not being physically perfect by a long shot.
With so many people playing head games;
I think it is my being genuine and straight up honest up front that is what they find appealing.
Some say the way to a man's heart is via sex or food.
I feel it is honesty and no head game playing.

PS.
The several women I knew/know who have been or are involved or married to much younger men;
as in 10 to 50 years younger;
were/are all 5'4" down to 4'11".
Also all have weighed or weigh betwixt about 190 pounds and 425 pounds.

the lovely huntresses I've known have varied in height... really no standard size or shape... sorry.

(don't trust all you read/see on these sites, they really aren't on par with actual population/statistics, and people can be incredibly dishonest in using such programs.... IME)

Anyway, my ex's ex was my size, about an inch taller... so 5ft~ she was 10 years his senior...

My friend at the courthouse is 50 and her young star crossed love was 19 at the time... she was quite tall, maybe 5'9".

Neither of them especially set out for younger men though... just happens when it happens, I guess. Both are not into random connections/hook ups, although I do know a few ladies/lady-folk who aren't up for long term... can't assume all older women want to be tied down... doesn't work that way all the time with older ladies than younger... everyone has their own prerogative, aye?! ^^ *justsayin*

those are just examples of the extremes I've seen in size difference! lol ~__~ I think most of them are average height that I've known... about 5'4" is what I'd say is average, (though I may not be a good judge, I consider anyone over 5'3" blessed with height! haha) *justme*

Yes, in my observations and experiences it just happens.
Myself and the other women I knew/know;
are not into just for jollies relationships with younger men.
Most of them want to marry or have a long term partner.
My friend (long passed) was 69 when she and her 19 year old lover began their love, yes it was love relationship.
Yes there was also sex.
She was also crippled from polio since the age of 14, and no beauty, but omg what a mind and vibrant personality!
The reason their relationship ended when she was 74 and he was 24;
is that he died in a motorcycle accident.
She had a couple casual flings in her 80s with young men about 20, but her health gave out, (not their interest) and she died at age 84.

I'm 5'8 and I prefer dating men my own age.

My Cappy friend is 6'1 and 31 and she likes men who are 19-21, though.

I suppose it's plausible that taller women got used to dating shorter men at times and that made them more open-minded toward dating younger men as well.

But don't mistake size for this. For example, I know a woman right at 6 feet tall who even about 60 years old couldn't stand the idea of being with a man even a few years younger than her.

the taller the woman the more she identifies as a man, the more she will want to take away the innocence of someone smaller than her

Are you serious or just trying to have some fun with us?

ETA: never mind, I can tell from other threads that you're a troll and don't really believe what you say, you're just trying to get a reaction out of us for the laughs it gives you.

Read what I said about Troll in one of those threads in 2.0. Troll is a word you call me when you don't like that I say something that holds power. Don't worry though. I don't just make this stuff up. I dont believe in what I say, I KNOW what I say or I would never write it. The truth can suck sometimes. If you let it...

But I also bring you good news. I love tall women. Most guys do. The only girls I have ever loved were all over 5 foot 6. It is true. Most guys want a woman over 5 foot 7 under 6'1. A woman over 6 1 and the guy wouldn't mind you dominating him. haha. And don't feel left out short girls. Guys like taking control with you, you are so precious to them.

But remember......inches are minute. I don't really understand it to be honest. People here will call someone 5 foot 2 short but someone 10 inches taller TALL! It doesnt make any sense to someone like me, have you seen the difference in 10 inches!? It isn't that much...at all but they have convinced you that it is. Tall to me would be someone 14 feet and short would be a person a foot. (sorry for those here who are 1 foot tall)

All women are beautiful to me. I would be happy to be able to spend time with just one of them!

I HAVE considered the possibility (based on a couple of threads and postings) that you're one of those teen know it alls (15 at oldest, but probably younger than that) rather than a troll, you know the kind who thinks their parents are idiots yet doesn't get a job while you're young enough to still know everything. Definitely a boy if you are. But then I thought your vocabulary & spelling were too impressive for such a child (and while kids can be impressive that way such exceptional kids are also usually too well-read and reflective to say the kind of things you do as well), so I'm convinced you're an adult troll who is knowingly and willfully trying to be disruptive for your own amusement.

Also, the Australians switched to the metric system decades ago and don't talk in terms of "feet" and "inches" as you do here, not even the older ones (like about retirement age) who weren't raised with the metric system. So in any case I don't believe you're from Australia as you say you are.

The label "cougar" bothers me. I think people are lucky if they can find love, and I really don't want to make assumptions about a woman if she's with a younger man.

That being said, my brother's wife is 18 years older than him. My sister-in-law is a fantastic, always-encouraging Pisces. My brother was the first younger man she dated.

They've been together for about 20 years.

He is 6'4" and she is about 5'2."

What's the negative association of "cougar"?

Most definitions at Urban Dictionary are fairly flattering (which is unusual), at least for UD:

^ The context it's used in- from what I've seen, it's usually derogatory.

Edit: Actually many of the Urban Dictionary definitions are negative, which is what I was referring to.

Maybe the term is specific to women who are ridiculous for one reason or another...but I think it's over-applied.

Well, I DID say "for urban dictionary" which has a large amount of male trolls angry at women for not having sex with them. If you think "cougar" is negative, look up the definition for "woman." Actually, maybe you shouldn't...especially as it's difficult to tell who's serious and who thinks they're being funny (though at least the votes keep the best ones as the top rather than the troll entries).

From what I gathered, it implied that cougars were more mature emotionally (and not likely to engage in head games), stable, experienced, and sexually desirable (MILF is a compliment, btw, again, the definitions being mostly by males.)

When I hear the term used it's usually in a neutral context, and generally speaking even when they're made fun of in comedy skits they're still portrayed as more respectable than younger women looking for sex and/or romance (for example, the cougar is seen as an independent woman having a brain and a spine and with a position of power, unlike the pretty young thing easily suckered, slutty, near helpless, and/or practically a ***** going after money or at least hot cars as she NEEDS a man to take care of her as she's too stupid to take care of herself). Likewise older men after younger women, while more acceptable socially (or at least expected), seem to be portrayed as creepy and worse more often than not, especially in comedy skits that make fun of them instead.
