I'm currently caught in a seriously bad moral dilemma where i either send out an actual complaint or just be on my merry way to greener pastures.

The thing is I've recently got into a argument with my boss,i was filling out my vacation time form and she started in on asking me why i needed vacation time and it continued until she said well why do you need time off when and i quote " Your Mommy does everything for you" which really sent me through the roof and beyond the skies above with rage.I called her out on her rude behaviour and she kept saying no no no it's not rude of me to say, then she has the nerve to tell me that it was just a joke.

I have to ask does that sound like any kind of joke that your boss would say to you? would you say that to anyone? i found it to be a rude dig at a person whom she doesn't like aka me.

I told her off even more ( Taurus sun Aquarius moon Leo rising) i tend to be stubborn. She got angry when i mentioned that she has taken more than one vacation herself and she was plain ruder with me. I quote and this is her shouting at me " Hey i'm sorry if you can't take a joke but that's not my problem from now on i'll talk to you only in business like manner" correct me if i'm wrong here but shouldn't she have been doing that in the first place? instead of thinking it's alright to say something nasty and vile as that.

I'm not going out of my way to start drama but this event has been seriously annoying me and bugging me because i'm torn between whether i should file a complaint about her treatment towards me,or if i should ignore it or a recent conclusion to my issue start looking for another job while continuing working there and quit when i find one.Being honest i'm so torn and it's mainly because my insides are upside down because i can't stand the lack of ******** that is going on and the lack of honesty.I need honesty i just need it and i don't feel like i'm getting it from my boss.

Sorry for the long post rant but your advice would be much appreciated and thanks for the time to even respond.

I learned this from a very wise person on LL--Randall. I don't do it all the time or often. Don't act in anger.

Lol I hate untrained b***** like that girl. Nothing is ever their fault.

File a complaint against her if this is not the first time she behaved that way.

How does she know anything personal about you in the first place?
I mean why does she even know that you live with your parents?

I am not saying people are doing this but we should not try to blame him that his boss knew some details of his life. That is quite common in work situations, especially smaller businesses.
It may not be ideal but I hate when people blame the victim. Again, this is not personal to anyone here.

Well i started working there and than my mother was hired by her and she thinks just because my mother and i live together that she does everything for me.Hence the connection which was actually a bit funny because elsewhere she doesn't know anything about my life other than that i live with my parents still.

But i guess it was enough ammunition for her.

aside from knowing that i live with my parents she knows nothing and i agree with you my personal life is no one business which is why i don't tell her nothing.

she'll ask and i'll say none of your business.

I think people have to learn to deal with jerks as many people are jerks. Everyone can be a jerk, at times, too.
I think that is a life lesson that I am learning and that mature people have already figured out

there is always a chain of command...

follow the appropriate chain of command.

her remarks were not professional and totally called for.

that is if you want to handle things appropriately....i tend to be covert and bit em in the a$$ when they are not looking...

" Your Mommy does everything for you"

How about a response like -

"Yup but she can't take you off me, now can she ?" with a smile and a minute later. "Oh btw it was just a joke".

And

"Why i needed vacation time"

"To hunt for someone suitable to get married to. You can ask my mommy"

Never let people like her ruffle you. Just not worth it.

My boss is this type of a person. You should listen to the kind of answers i give him. And the smiles too.

Yep, if you can get in that cool space, you can handle nasty, petty people like that. I do

Seems normal enough but to be honest i can't be that cheeky when somebody or when i feel like someone is attacking me in some way...verbally speaking.I tend to be very direct and i dislike playing the cool calm and collected type mainly because i can't do it.I rather be in their face telling them off.

Personal preference but your idea works just the same i just can't do it.

Knowing that ^.. honestly... I wouldn't work for her anymore if I was in your shoes.
That was a very lame thing for her to say, mainly since your mum has also worked there. It is just disrespectful.
I just think she might say upsetting things in the future. I don't think this will be the last. So if you can find a different job - as you were saying.. that would be better.

I was just wondering about the background story and how she found out, not blaming him.
I initially thought there might've been a gossipy coworker who told her things about him... or something along those lines.

If you're filling out for vacation time she a) isn't allowed to ask you WHY you're going on vacation or what you're doing. b) She's clearly being rude and then getting defensive because you called her out on it. I worked for a terrible boss like that who eventually ended up firing me for missing work when she knew it was due to family, and I'd taken all the necessary steps to take a leave of absence. Eventually she got fired. Corporate watches, they're just slow to act. You can speed up the process...
