What did Padre say that was offensive? I think he was trying to say lovers are replaceable. Padre is a straight man so of course he will finds women replaceable... I mean don't you find men replaceable too? Boys come a dime a dozen He was hardly being sexiest.. You expect him to cry over every lover because they're women? Jeez Use common sense before you attack someone. I think padre has the right attitude towards relationships, and I don't see how that's bad or sexiest. I mean just because he goes out with women...? He said women are replaceable, while only most men are. He later said that women can be irreplaceable, so I infer that he just hasn't seen an irreplaceable woman yet. IP: Logged |

You are a very cool dude, K. I wanted to tell you that before. You do not fall under any labels, the way I don't Go you ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I think the reason for so much depression is that people can't talk straight anymore. You are labeled sexist, bigot, etc etc There are true sexists who make woman have sex with them or the women will lose their jobs. That is a LOW percentage. The rest is just pure drivel imo If you can't express yourself, you will be depressed. That is what Mommy says ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. I didn't ask for the thread to be closed because of Padre. I labelled his initial statement as sexist, not him, though in my opinion he seems sometimes judging towards women. He then tried to convolute it and I let it slide because making such generalizations based on one example speaks for itself and considered it's not worth the bother. I don't appreciate this being flamed further, btw. IP: Logged |

Hera You seem to be taking everything to heart that is not aimed at dissing you or someone else. Do you want to talk about what is really bothering you. If so, I am here( and other people are, too)------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Maybe, I never noticed a lot of his posts. I do think the thread closed with out him having defended himself and that's unfair. IP: Logged |

Maybe Padre thinks everyone wants to be irreplaceable and he's stirring the pot on LL, where the majority of posters are female by saying that: all women are replaceable & only 'most' men... (If he actually said that in those words! I didn't see it do I don't know)I mean obviously this kind of statement would upset certain people..and I'm sure he knows that. I like Padre overall, but sometimes he seems jaded about women.. because of his past experiences, and he seems to be intentionally stirring the pot. IP: Logged |

And Hera please don't get dragged into this 'pot stirring' in the future. Aries people are fighters at heart and the more positive Aries want to fight for ideals like happiness and freedom. So when we are met with a person who is overly cynical and intentionally raining on everyone's parade and upsetting other people - we tend to get very passionate about beating that person into a pulp. It is not worth it in this case. He has his own issues and baits women on LL intentionally to get reactions. When you see him doing that, just ignore him. And only give him attention and positive feedback when he behaves normally and says intelligent things. That's what I do IP: Logged |

Hmmmm ok. I read the thread. I don't think he was being sexist in this particular thread...and maybe it was not intentional this particular time.. But on other occasions it was. So... I mean... People get vibes from other people and he is generally feisty, so I'm not surprised Hera reacted to this comment.IP: Logged |

Ami - quote: There are true sexists who make woman have sex with them or the women will lose their jobs. That is a LOW percentage.
There are multiple other ways to be truly sexist in a way that is hurtful to others. What about men who think women are walking vaginas and cannot have one proper conversation with a woman on any topic that is not sex related? I'm sure you wouldn't like being in this position as a Gemini and being treated as brainless or like someone who has no useful input to make, because of your gender. It doesn't have to be as obvious as being fired, unless you have sex with your boss. Many sexist men these days are highly careful to not be overtly sexist because there are social repercussions, so they take stabs in a more hidden way. I am not saying they are a majority - these are not "most" men, but they are not a minority either. IP: Logged |

Odette, thank you. I also think Padre is generally an ok guy, but he does make these remarks that, to me, show his bias. I didn't want to let it pass because any type of discrimination is not okay. After his other explanations I decided to let it go because it was silly and pointless. Personally I think Ami is way better at pot stirring and that is one twisted game I do not want to be a part of. I guess I need to learn to get better at ignoring certain people. I cannot get off on another Mod nor give her the satisfaction of creating more drama. So I asked for the thread to close and I think this one should also get closed, before it flares up. IP: Logged |

Oh no, I really enjoy a woman's pov, all my point was centered around being male and that is my pov and I gave an example. My concern with woman's pov is sometimes I can be very very blunt and it comes across the wrong way and generates offenses. BUT, I think the offense came from my examples, for me and my pov situationally some people are not replaceable yet do wind up being replaced. And I maintain societal pressure to be a provider is on the male, when single one of the first question every man gets asked is "where do you work?" There are societal reasons for that question. Occasionally, in this case I was not trying to per se, it is more bluntness/lack of diplomacy coming to the front. I've found one can say something that is an observable truth in my life and it can come across very poorly. IP: Logged |

Honestly, I think you guys are going WAAYY overboard. The word sexist is thrown around way too much, so that it does not mean what it should--actual discrimination of woman such that she has to sleep with a man to get a job and things of that HUGE a nature, not some small comment that meant nothing. That word is very erroneously used as a weapon to men who are not doing anything at all, as Padre wasn't. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. My goodness I truly do believe woman can do the things men traditionally do if they choose to do so, I don't see gender as a bar to entrance to any field or endeavor. IP: Logged |

When someone gets all on the sexist bandwagon, they have issues imo We all have issues, albeit different ones but this is a red flag to me of someone who has issues with men. Just saying it straight.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

You are not a very good communicator, I imagine you know this. Neither am i, which is why I make a bigger effort. For the record, my thread was not about men vs women as financial providers, where did that come from??? It was, and I think I made it clear in my 2nd post, about initial stages of relationships and keeping options open vs focusing on one single person. In that context, your comment seemed derogatory towards women. I didn't insist because I realized you meant smth else and didn't want to make a bigger case out of it, but it seems like I failed badly at that, since now there's this other thread. Ugh. So, can we all group hug and move on now? IP: Logged |
