This is a f-ing Internet forum. You can't tell one a-hole from the next. They are all dirty and full of sh1t. Available advice is like used toilet paper.

Everybody should just f-ing get back to reality and focus on work/school.

Karka, don't you have f-ing homework or something and shouldn't you be studying for your next test?

Aquaguy, shouldn't you be studying for your SAT I and IIs and/or ACTs?

Yadda yadda yadda...

Warning etc. et. al.

Do me a favor. Ban me permanently so you guys can have your happy forum to rejoice in your collective agreeable opinions. Until I am banned, I will vigorously defend my position with the highest level of fervor.

I mean no malice, but I speak it the way I see it. I was merely communicating with aquaguy in a language that is endearing lol I did not insult him.

Yes, you can construe that as myself insulting everyone on this forum. If that is your view, then I insult myself too. What's the difference.

Unless you guys can't handle reality. The "debates" you have here are one sided cheer fest...

I WILL NOT now or forever cater to the politically correct crowd, and in deference to the memory of Linda Goodman.. God Bless Her.. I shall refrain from further comment.

Am I obnoxious? You got that right. I'm good at it too, being a professional. And I deploy the obnoxiousness when I deem it necessary. Get used to it.

Lazyscarecrow was here??

HI LAZYSCARECROW!

I haven't read this whole thread, I just wanted to post this song that cracks me up...I dedicate this to the men of LL, who are manly enough to actually show up at a New Age forum.

Sensitive New Age Guys

You guys must get tired of all this fighting, so there's a little intermission for ya.

Hey! I've still been lurking around every now and again. I decided to take a break from LL a while ago.

I had to get rid of my post on this thread because I just remembered why I took a break from LL...

Hey, Faith! I'm surprised I'm actually remembered. Anyway I hope you guys are doing well.

I have no intentions of going down that path with you, or with anyone else. Don't cross swords. It's not productive.

Haha I'm getting enrolled for spring classes as we speak. Problem is I also have the option to start a good job that pays a lot in March. So what do I do? Go on to school and be a broke college
student for 4 to 8 years or start a job
where I can make 50,000 and up to
120,000 a year? Frankly I'm leaning towards the 2nd option.

I would pick the 2nd option and pick up evening courses part time. Look into continuing education colleges that offer Saturday coursework. I knwo someone who did night classes once a week and classes all Saturday, and he finished college in 5 years part time. If you have the right job, they may even pay for most of the tuition.

Being a broke college kid makes no sense. The opportunity cost is far too high. If you make a good 100 grand and even if you spend a good 30 grand for a private college, you will still be ahead in terms of housing and healthcare. Also, nothing beats having being established in your career field and job experience always triumphs non-job experience.

Many college kids these days are struggling to find a good job, and I don't mean making coffee or flipping burgers! I personally know a guy who spent over 200 grand on his daughter with a Masters in Creative Writing. What does she do for a living? Starbucks Barista. Why? Her grades are really top notch but no real jobs around. That's a shame.

Bottom line. My recommendation is Option 2. But get all As in everything. Stay focused and keep your eye on the ball. Everything else doesn't matter.

Mitchell has already submitted his Early Action college application, and we're preparing the secondaries right now. He took his ACTs and SAT Is in the last two weeks for the final time. SAT IIs coming up (Calculus, Biology and AP Spanish).

email me if you want any help on anything.

Well thing is the job I would be doing is truck driving so there would be no time for school period. I would only be home like 2 days every 2 weeks.I would get to travel and see the whole country though and make a lot of money. Honestly,I have thought about being a truck driver for a long time. I love driving/traveling and seeing new places so it has always appealed to me.However mom has always disapproved of it and has tried to talk me out of it.But here lately I have bern doing a ton of research on it and I am liking what I'm seeing.I have also talked to a lot of truckers and they all love their job.I have found a good trucking company that is local and will pay for all my training and give me a job if I sign a 1 year contract. On top of that they will pay me 12$ an hr during training. I have done a lot of research and they seem like a top notch conpany to work for. I digged and digged and could not find a single negative employee review. I have pretty much made up my mind that I'm going to sign a contract to work for the company. I think i'll like being a trucker but if worst comes to worst I can work at it for a year or 2 and then go back to school.

It's a good job that puts you ahead of the college kids. There's nothing to say that you can't bring along a book or two while you are on the road. Learning proper Spanish and French is useful given where you live. Learning how to manage your finances and investments is helpful. So does learning statistics and some mechanical engineering. Imagine the income you can generate if you know how to service a Peterbilt or a Mack.

You seen the A&E Show called Ice Road Truckers on the Alaskan North Slope? They make more than most NYC lawyers.

Trucking really is a great career field. The possibilities are almost endless . You can do local routes, committed routes where you go to a certain city everyday and sleep in your own bed at night,Cross country or over the road, team drivers, or be an owner/operator. The job market is great for truckers and you can always find a job.Trucking companies are so desperate for drivers right now that they are offering paid training and sign on bonuses. The guy my mom is dating is a truck driver and he drives a committed
route. He goes to lousville,Kentucky everyday and gets to come home every night. He is pulling in 70 grand a year and says he used to make a lot more money when he was an over the road trucker. I plan to otr/team driving starting out because that's how you make the most money.

Because you have such strong influence in air signs, I'm just not sure that trucking is your calling.
You could do it for some time, maybe a year, to see what it's like and to save some money.
Then go to college later on...
Or you could take some classes part-time now and also work part time.
