..."for little girls with emotional problems." This is what I was told recently verbatim by my ex. Obviously he is a d*** and I should not let it get to me, but he knows I grew up with extremely religious parents, and he really knows how to get under my skin and play off my insecurities/guilt complex...

Anyway just felt like sharing my frustration and wondering how all of you guys deal with people who are intolerant of your interests or thinking outside the box

I don't talk about them to people who won't understand. Jesus said not to throw pearls in front of swine.( That applies in other situations, too)

^^Yes but as a Sag Mercury and Moon, I have no filter sometimes lol . I don't expect anyone to have the same opinions, but when it comes to a relationship, I need someone who can at least respect what I believe in even if they don't agree. And if they can't that's a deal-breaker I guess

Which I suppose was one of the biggest lessons this person/experience taught me

I like that Ami! "Don't throw pearls in front of swine."

You have to pick your battles and realize that not everyone will agree, or even respect you. Some things (or people) are simply not worth it. Often I might just give a little snap as a "up yours" and then I'm done. I don't care what they do.
Basically, what it sounds like is he WANTS to get under your skin and you're letting him. Don't do that. LOL

Even if he can't respect your differences, show him that you can.

It goes both ways. It's all a matter of perspective. Objectively, I can see how the guy derives his opinion, not that I agree with the delivery of his opinion.

Look at this subset of the forum alone.

Think of it from an average male perspective.

The first few threads in here:

"If I am fat, I wish people would love me."
"What would you do if a guy is a d*ck, would you hang around him?"
"What happens if a ja*kazz lies to you?"
"Nobody loves me"
"I notice guys want me to put on more make up"

Then you move to Astro 2:
"Guy is being a d*ck"
"Husband is a pr1ck"
"He oogled some other girl"
"Check out whether this guy is a pr1ck"
"He is after me. Is he a sh1thead?"

That's pretty much the entire forum.

@FireMoon: Good thing you learned it before you got married! My husband hates astrology and it really is a problem. I tell myself it shouldn't matter that much, but it does.

So I hope you won't let it bother you; even though that guy sounds annoying, it's GREAT that you got this lesson while you are still young Some of us didn't get that lesson until it was too late.

I know that I for one am grateful to all the jerks in my life who hurt me and taught me how not to be hurt in the same way again.

I'm going to team up with Aquaguy91 and get a male-centric viewpoint forum going...

"Well, I propositioned her and got slapped.. how do I get to second base?"

Hahaha

My favorite of all time....

"Guy's a d1ck. I hate him, but I can't get him out of my mind. I left him. Now we're back together. He's still a a d1ck. What do I do now?"

Hey I totally understand what you're saying, 99% of the posters here seem to be female

BUT the thing is, he doesn't know a single thing about this forum. I thought we were close enough to try to talk about what I'm interested in- including some basic concepts in astrology, and he took it as a complete joke or "Twilight Trilogy" type of girly fantasy... But this topic wasn't really supposed to be about gender at all

Of course he as everyone else is entitled to their opinion, but when people start getting dogmatic about their beliefs (in his case Christianity) and use low blows to undermine anything that contradicts with their opinions, then I have a problem with it lol

I don't need a partner to be into it or 100% understand but if they spit upon enlightenment they can kiss my ass as I walk out the door.

I can handle light teasing but not total close-mindedness. Such a person would not be spiritually compatible with me.

Thanks Faith I think with open communication there is always hope to break through someone's walls even with subjects as touchy as religion... Although maybe that's just my overly idealistic side talking lol

edit: just trying to say I wish you the best with your husband, idk the circumstances but don't think it's too late to get through to him if you really want to

Not yet. I'm not sure what's going on. Wireless and even 4G on my phone. It just times out. Oh well. Just know that I will whenever it decides to work. I'm out of state anyway. Maybe it'll work when I get back home.
I don't want to clutter up this thread but just know I'll get back to ya.

Actually. Do you mind sharing some of his placements or his chart? I'm curious.

Some people are like that. I have some Pisces friends who would definitely fit that sort of description but I suppose any sign could.

@ Firemoon, Thank you

I am kind of hopeless but also take responsibility for my own shortcomings, which make the situation worse than it has to be. With other people, I think breaking down walls IS possible.

@ Zander, Much appreciated, if all else fails I might just repeat my questions on the meissieri thread sometime.

@Aquacheeka: I love what you wrote.

Sure... He's a Scorpio rising with Pluto in the 12th, Gemini Sun and Sag Moon- so his close-mindedness saddens me lol. He has Sun in 7th house and Moon in 1st. He's verrrry close with his mom (a little too close if you ask me) and *shocker* she's very preachy.

He has Leo Mars widely conjunct Jupiter, and Cancer Venus conjunct SN in 8th house. Also Taurus Mercury opposite Pluto

I should've known from the synastry we had way too much Saturn and Pluto going on for things to run smoothly. Also, two 7th house Suns in a relationship is a disaster waiting to happen lol

Yep, a hard learned lesson but worth every bit of pain.

Wipe the dirt off your shoes and leave some despicable people behind( but come back and bug them every now and then, just for fun )
