Topic: Preacher calls out single men

Someone else posted this on another forum and I thought it would be worth posting here. This preacher gets heated and calls out single guys and calls them "Eunuchs" and basically calls then wussies. This is coming from a preacher of a christian church, a religion that often get called misogynistic and patriarchal by its critics. But you sure wouldn't know it by the way this preacher bashes his fellow men. I have heard local preachers go off on the male members of their congregations just as bad as this dude. In fact this is partly the reason I quit going to church. The churches are just as feminized and anti-male as the rest of American society. Notice how he puts all the responsibility on men and never even seems to question why men are feeling the way they do and maybe... just maybe... the fact that men are becoming more hesitant to make moves on women has something to do with the fact that womens behavior has fundamentally changed. It amazes me how clueless most people are to the fact that dating/relationship dynamics have changed and we arent living in the 40s or 50s anymore. Yet our society seems content to continue blaming everything on men at all levels. You are exactly right. But you will never see a preacher calling out women and telling them to act more like ladies. They will belittle and criticize the men to high heavens though while stroking the egos of their female congregants. Is it any wonder that men are starting to leave churches? Its funny that he brought up Boaz because Boaz was a man in the bible who was pursued by a woman, Ruth. Yet he is calling men Eunuchs and wussies for being shy.IP: Logged |

Or, if you are really very bothered by this why don't you attend one of these churches and seek reform? I always say it is better to be standing on the inside criticizing than on the outside. Which is obviously why I'm in politics IP: Logged |

And *if* for some reason this thread doesn't get closed, can we all just ignore AG and not take the bait? Yes, you may want to debate or prove your point to him, but it is clear that over the course of these last few days (and even before then) your efforts will go in vain because he is already firmly set into his beliefs. I don't think that's the biggest problem.
If he was having a happy sex life with a woman who fits his standards.. AG wouldn't be on LL at all. So the problem is personal rather than political.
He asks himself: Why don't I have this woman in my life?
Why isn't my life a joyful string of emotional and sexual experiences with the woman of my dreams? And then he comes up with political answers to explain why his life isn't what he wants it to be. Convoluted subject AG, b/c Organized Christianity teaches celibacy outside of marriage, so in essence what he is saying is start marrying congregation! Don't be eunuchs!Cynic in me is a bit dubious as to his actual motives. I do not really have an answer tbh, common sense would tell me he is operating from a frame of reference of Roman Empire era societies with low life expectancies. Basically, if one buys what he is selling, no pre marital sex, no sex outside of marriage, and just take the plunge, it will all work out. Well its the same thing with the mgtow movement and the pua/game communities, by that I mean there are reasons these things exist. But Nobody wants to ask "why" because the answer is too politically incorrect, its just easier to blame it on men and tell us to "man up".
