Just for a change of pace, share with us what you typically do during your down time? If you are hitched, you are more than welcomed to share what you do as a couple .To quote Goose from Top Gun: "The list is long but distinguished." Me and my beloved have a mantra: Every weekend, we go out and do something together. It could be as simple and relaxing as taking a hike by the lakeshore or a motorcycle ride across the province, to something elegant like an Opera date or live theater to something extreme like Skydiving, Rock Climbing or kite surfing! It just builds up fond memories for us and opens us up to new experiences. Plus, the fact that we get to experience these activities together makes us learn new things about each other. Sundays are reserved for movies at the theater or just relaxing together indoors (ranging from reading, playing video games, catching up with shows, Or just plain "our" time. Apart from that, I personally have a few projects on the side that I do to help me relax. I am an Engineer (With a Joint Engineering and Business Degree) and as such, tinkering around with things helps me relax Lol! I shared this before a while back: quote: Originally posted by Xodian: As weird as it may sound, I like to tinker around with things. Usually this involves, taking them apart, looking at the individual components and then think of ways as to how to improve on that particular mechanism .For instance, I still own a Mazda RX-8 that I bought as a young adult and if you happen to know a thing or two about Cars then you will know that the RX-8 uses a Wankel Engine (Rotary Engine as opposed to a Piston based Engine.)
The power you get out of a Rotary Engine is amazing! However, its not the most efficient engine in the world when it comes to fuel consumption and emissions. I have taken the engine apart and am currently working on it to see if I can solve those problems with it (and I have a possible solution in mind but it will require a re-design of the engine.)
Apart from that, I usually do the Reno work around my house on my own after I have done a bit of design consulting with my wife . Our latest project will be adding this on to key areas of our house: http://www.smartglassinternational.com/electric-privacy-glass-for-homes/
I usually reserve these project for Sundays during the weekend leaving Saturdays open for me and my beloved to follow suit on our Mantra.
So... How about you guys? What do you do to take the edge off of life?

Hmmm... we do quite a lot of things for fun. We love spending time together, although with our schedules it's difficult sometimes. I used to really enjoy outdoor activities but recently I seem to prefer quiet time at home (well I still love camping in the woods). My s.o says that it's a sign of old age lol cheeky little focker he is. IP: Logged |

When I'm by myself I'm an extremely nostalgic person... I'm so attached to my past experiences.. If I'm around my home turf I spend most of my free time at this intimate cove since I was a kid. It's a very special location for me.. It's where I had my first real kiss, rolled my first blunt and lost my virginity. most of the time I use just go for a dip collect shells or lay on the sand and smoke for a couple of hours which is the routine since I was young. I don't have many routines but that is pretty much the only one I follow. Now I usually do this early in the morning or the night since it's private property now. I definitely plan on buying that property one day! IP: Logged |

We're all gamers here so we do like our PC games. Right now I'm playing Elder Scrolls Online. I often play World of Warcraft. My husband and I really enjoy sailing. We go out on our boat when we can. We haven't made enough time for that in the past year so we're doing an update on the boat so it's all brand new and awesome for this summer. Sometimes we'll go kayaking in the marina. Right now we are by the beach so we love beach walking as cliche as that sounds. We often walk down to the pier, collect sand dollars, etc. In the summer we do a lot of boogie boarding. My husband and I are also movie people so we watch a lot of movies at home and at our favorite theater. IP: Logged |

So this weekend, I had a chance to test out my 2 meter Generation V Naish Land Kite at the Scarborough Cliffs overlooking the lake. 2 meter kites are not really meant for water surfing but they are great to use on land to train newbies and to improve your skills. Thrilling moment to say the least.Geared up and ready to go Preparing the kite: IP: Logged |

Speaking of stories. One of the things I remember the most about my 1st time walking through the forests is the little leeches. They hide under the leaves n swing/drop themselves onto any animal or human that happens to walk by. The little devil tried to get a meal of muddy's blood. The scenery was enchanting. It could easily fill a person's head with fantasies of living in the forests. But those leeches definitely were a wake up call lmao.

Fun? I enjoy working. But for more fun I like to practice yoga, be out in nature, preferabaly alone, "study" people while drinking beverages in cafes, traveling-preferably alone, and I like to have fun with horses and/or dogs. I enjoy working with people, a passion actually, but privately I prefer to be alone. I can txt away all day long but not spend too much quality time face to face. It drains me and it's also boring, to me. I think I enjoy living a balanced life where I do what I want every day as opposed to having designated fun-days. Living too structured makes me claustrophobic hence why it's extremely important for me to work with something I love and I rather live like a rat with no money until I find that occupation than working with something I abhor. oh, and FOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!! I love food IP: Logged |

So what do you do with those kites? Do you glide with them? Is this something you do often? Looks FUN!

Leeches... Nasty little buggers! Between them and Mosquitoes, a hike through any damp wooded areas quickly becomes quite irritating. But I am glad that you had fun . Its good to go out and enjoy the outdoors. quote: Originally posted by MoonWitch: So what do you do with those kites? Do you glide with them? Is this something you do often? Looks FUN!
Oh these Kites aren't big enough to support a full fledged Parasailing or Parachuting expedition (though I suppose with a strong enough gust, its possible.) This is what you use these kites for : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ_V5M-F2O0 BTW: Ladies, this sport is quickly picking up interest with a lot of women so I DEF. recommend that you get into it. Infact, the reason why I have been getting the 2 meter kites is because my wonderful wife is interested in the sport and as such, she wants the learn the tricks of the sport. quote: Originally posted by MoonWitch: I am an Aries What are you?

Fanks! Its still a WIP right now as I want to see if I can try to increase capacity output from the small little Wankle without compromising the Displacement or the weight distribution. Still got a bit of work to do on it. Ahhh... The Pontiac Grand Prix... The GXP certainly gave you the required bang for your buck! Good car. Has the torque output of a monster truck! You should also look into Pontiac's G8 models if you are a fan of the brand! I love their G8 GXP since they are pretty much Australian rebadged Holdens Lol! Amazing cars for the money you pay. http://www.unitrax.biz/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/2009-Pontiac-G8-GXP-Front-A nd-Side-1280x960.jpg Beats the boring old Beemer any day.
