I am respected in 95% of the places I share my articles but one place I was not. Yet, I kept going back to that one place and kept getting disrespected. Then, it hit me that I don't have to go there anymore. isn't that weird? I don't know why I kept going.Maybe, I felt I had to prove my value. I really don't know until it hit me to cut them off and then I walked away LOL------------------

Why do you have to prove yourself in the first place?Your self-worth should never based on whether people like you or not, how many fans or followers you have, or whether your articles are respected or not. Who you are is completely separate from your career, and placing your value in anything outside of your interior will never leave you satisfied or at peace.

Ami this is true I get your point.."One does not have to stay where one is not respected LOL" I had something similar happen once online- it was a small poetry venue I joined, mostly males. A few sexist things were said to me in which I didn't like. I wasn't going to be toyed with or disrespected, and I thought oh no boys you have me pegged all wrong..I'm moving on before I lose my temper- and I had no qualms about doing so. A little off topic- but with fb, I thought to add a few more knowflakes and poetry acquaintances from other places to my page, however I think in the long run it's more comfortable for me to keep it separate. Yea, people with no wisdom give platitudes. People with wisdom share their own experience and their own struggles. If someone has a canned experience, you know it is not authentic. It is pablum and platitudes and helps no one.------------------

The larger issue is not being a victim and realizing you can walk away.
It really took me 6 years to realize I could simply walk away and leave the jealous, immature people behind me. It was a heart change and took time. No one can do it by just words. You have to walk through it, in my opinion. You have to see the light and then the door opens and you walk through. If people tell you they got it like Microwave popcorn, RUN  ------------------

Oh My Goodness. You really made my day and I NEEDED it badly. I have alll kinds of mosquitoes in my house, biting me in every possible inch of skin such as heels and hands because I have 3 layers on and I, also, realized that I can stand up to anyone and I was a wimp for no reason ------------------
