Yeah, I don't like it. I'm not proud of it, but I am. Cutting and binge eating just seem like the only ways to get rid of the pain...IDK, does anyone have any good ideas on what I could do instead of those two things? IP: Logged |

I've been having anxiety attacks again. I finally felt okay today, but had trouble sleeping for days, which made it worse.I'll have to come back with suggestions, although I've been trying to just leave. IP: Logged |

Several things if you haven't already or are doing them:-Therapy -EFT -Snap bands -Meditation/guided imagery -Breathing exercises -Physical activity -Volunteering -Spending time with animals Let me know if you want more details or ideas- basically you need to get out of your head and work on making positive steps. Easier said than done though, wish you the best. IP: Logged |

A flower essence helped me over the past twenty-four hours. I got it from Spirit-In essences (used to be Masters Essences).IP: Logged |

On bad days, I usually go out to the beach and just sat there for a whole day - that's from dawn to dusk. The sea breeze is really healing for me - cools me down and blows away all grievances. If I'm still not feeling better, I'll be back the next day. Try the woods too. If you have pent up energy, then run, be it by the sea or in the bush or up the hills. You would be surprised at the powerful healing energy of nature. But that's just my way.If you have the urge to cut, why not chop up some carrots instead? And I mean manually (the good old way) - just knife and carrots. Make sure they are finely cut into thin sticks. Be a freaky perfectionist, focus on making them as good as they can be (same length, size, etc). Have nothing else on your mind - it's just you and the carrot. This in itself is meditation: picking up the most tedious task that requires extreme full concentration and doing it meticulously. If you are up for a challenge, carve a veggie. Otherwise, just chop up more - celery sticks, capsicums, cucumbers, tomatoes.. So there, you'll have a bowl of salads to binge on after. Have your meals outdoor in the garden - fresh air gives one better perspective. Savor every bite of your salad. Perhaps as a bonus for your hard effort, you could have dessert too. Do Chia seeds with yogurt and sprinkled berries sound enticing to you? Chia seeds are high in Omega 3 which helps in grounding yourself. And if you still aren't feeling better, then repeat the process, you'll be a masterchef soon enough. Just giving another perspective of doing your old way in a different way. By the way, I'm an oddball, so my way is usually the odd way. If it doesn't suit, just ignore. No harm intended. IP: Logged |

The thing about any behavior is that it has a root.I would be in a depression and people would tell me to go out and take a walk and I wanted to B3$%$h slap them. The core reason is needed to heal anything imo The core reason is usually something rather simple but the emotional understanding is very, very, very hard. seemingly nearly impossible, sometimes The core reason is often terrible self loathing due to having to take on the abuser's attitude to you in order to survive

I always recommend Eckhart Tolle's books. He taught me how to disengage from pain, take a step back, and exist without thought, giving my spirit a break.Astrology helps because I look to transits as sources of (passing) discomfort. Best wishes, keep in touch IP: Logged |

I'm sorry Advice: Try to slow down. Don't act on anything. Tell yourself you HAVE to sit for 10 minutes. You will feel uneasy but while you are sitting, the thoughts and the emotions that you've been suppressing will start to surface. They will probably make you uncomfortable and you'll want to do something to numb them. Keep sitting and observe them, and hear what they are telling you. Write them down. Don't even think about what you're supposed to write, just write whatever comes. It might help to bring you back down to earth. You might find that writing your thoughts out makes them seem less scary. Or more scary, but then at least you will know what you're dealing with, instead of never facing them and numbing everything until it becomes chaos. hope this helps.. IP: Logged |

My thoughts are.... I think a professional would be your best bet. EVEN if they just mostly listen. There's something about letting it all out to someone who's knowledge and skills you trust. More than that, it really helps to get out to someone face to face. Someone who can look at everything objectively. I don't mean any disrespect to anyone here whatsoever. But I don't think people here can really help that much. If nothing else, just seeking any help online for things such as this I don't think is all that effective, even if it's a professional. Face to face is always better, and recommended. At least I recommend it. I mean, we're here, and people can help some, but I just think face to face with someone is so much better. A pro who can make sound recommendations as far as therapy and real solutions for solving it, not just surviving this episode until the next one comes along. IP: Logged |
