I am addicted to reading about Henry the 8th and that era in history.

Mary Tudor, Bloody Mary, had such bitterness and such resentment that it poisoned her life.

She had one sickness after another and she virtually dried up.

It was so sad. She always wanted children and finally married a prince who did not care for her.

She had two false pregnancies and died young.

She could not get over her mother and tried to keep her mother alive by trying to keep Catholicism alive and in order to do that, she had hundreds of people burned at the stake.

My point is not the history but how bitterness will kill you.

Yes it will I've found that rhodonite is good for bitterness. And selenite! Also burning sage and taking a bath with rose petals always helps. Or just simply taking a break from society and making time for yourself. Life's too short.

(To anyone who may be interested. I've been there before.)

I LOOOOOOVED Henry VIII! I was obsessed with Showtime's The Tudors, I have the entire series on dvd. If you lived closer we could watch them.

Mary Tudor was quite a sad person. I sort of empathize with her, she lived through some really tough times. She's was extremely bitter, downright evil at times. Same with her mother, Catherine of Aragon. I still can't get over the fact that Catherine was married to his freakin brother. That's just sick imo, he married his sister-in-law. 😖 Anyway Mary's problems all boiled down to the fact that she was jealous. She is the perfect example of the hatred that is jealousy. She couldn't fathom the fact that her father's illegitimate daughter took her place. Elizabeth I was and is still to this day one the greatest rulers of the world. Yes Mary was deeply affected by the "betrayal" and death of her mother however her biggest problem, imo anyway, was her hatred for her sister. It was her sister's mother(Anne Boleyn) after all that stole her father away from her mother. She did whatever she could to make life difficult for Elizabeth and for herself.

Mary was the perfect example of evil being actively involved in the church. Some of the most evil people are in the churches.

I'm such a nerd lol, I love this stuff though.

Bitterness absolutely can and will destroy your life if you allow it. Jealousy is the worst kind of evil, it's hatred.

You like the Tudors, too Barbie? I am gonna watch them on U tube. Which episodes were your faves?

I saw the first season, I think. Did you like the actress for Anne Boleyn. I didn't. Somehow, I think she was too stereotypical.

What do you think of the actors for each character?

Barbie

I have just branched out and read a book on Lady Jane Grey. She was a tragic figure but SOOO brave to stand up for God until the end.

I am now reading a biography of Elizabeth. I love her relationship with Dudley.

He seems really amazing but I am just in the middle lol

I loved the entire series, it's hard to pick. If I had to pick favorites they would be from the first season. I enjoyed how they interpreted Henry in his younger years. He was wild lol. I enjoyed the jousting and tennis scenes Catherine's behavior though started to tick me off, it started getting repetitive and whiny. I understood why she was that way, I couldn't imagine being in that predicament.

I love Natalie Dormer, I thought she played Anne beautifully. Some of it was a little over the top but I thought it fit. The guy who played her father played his part very well. I looked forward to his death scene lol, it was brutal. All of them were.

Sam Neil was excellent with Wolsey. Wolsey was one of my favorites. I hated seeing him beheaded.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was made to play Henry! He is an excellent actor and was perfect. Same with Henry Cavill he played his role excellently. I didn't like how slutty he was though, they made him too sexually provocative.

I didn't care for Joss Stone as Anne of Cleaves, I think it's because I just don't care for Anne of Cleaves. Her character was very plain, her German accent however was spot on. I liked how they kept up with the history with her and Henry's first meeting. He was such a prick.

I thought the woman who played Catherine did a wonderful job as well. The girl who played Mary though was too sweet, they made her too innocent.

The girl who played Catherine Howard was awesome. Her death scene was so sad.

Jane Seymour's death was the saddest.

I thought they did great picking the wives. They all fit the real person.

I didn't care that much for the last season. He was older and the pace of the show slowed down tremendously.

The costumes and the settings were all picked beautifully. For the most part they kept up with the history which I thought was awesome.

Have you seen Elizabeth: The Golden Age? Her and Dudley's relationship was depicted beautifully in it. Elizabeth was a wonderful woman, she paved the way for women rulers.

I used to be obsessed with them as a kid, especially Mary. Their family mirrors mine in a lot of ways so I think I felt I could relate.

I didn't see Merlin but he was in Jurassic Park and also in this great mini series in which he was a super sexy spy. It was a PBS special. I can't remember the name.

He must be really different in real life with the Cancer Mars and Virgo venus
