. Who is your fave comedian and why? Put up a clip if you want. I was cleaning out my closet and feeling ashamed at what a mess it was. Then, I started thinking about Joan Rivers and what she would do in my situation. She is one of my favorites. Ali G is another. Would love to hear what you think. I don't have a favorite comedian but there are quite a few that I like. To me, there is a certain level of darkness to all humor. That's why it puzzles me that people categorize humor and only call some of it dark. Why do I say this? Well think about what you are doing when you are laughing at a sitcom. You are almost always laughing at a character's misfortune. If we got into those situations in real life we probably wouldn't be laughing about it until well after the fact when we looked back at the event. I think comedy allows us to develop the ability to laugh at the absurdity and curve balls life throws at us by giving us the chance to see things from a 3rd party perspective. I think we tend to laugh most at characters we can relate to on some level and this in turn might give us the ability to laugh at ourselves when we are going through a difficult time. IP: Logged |

I'd say Emo Phillips is probably one of my favorites. Mainly his earlier stuff though. IP: Logged |

George Carlin. He was a genius and I agree with him on most things about government, religion, people, etc. I'm probably not QUITE as cynical as he was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTi9qDJziAM Mitch Hedberg. Another one that died too soon, dammit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6xaj2fC1jI

He's a comedian but really he's both. This is probably a bit more light-hearted by him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvgN5gCuLac

I'm a big sucker for irony and just anything downright painfully true. Raunchy stuff is great too! If I'm in the right mood, some dry stuff hits the spot too.

Ami, you gotta look up the video on youtube of the 2 chinese take-out restuarants talking to each other over the phone. They both think the other is trying to place an order! IP: Logged |

Hmm, that would be pretty cool if she played and/or sang too. I've had flings/hookups with a lot of female musicians. They were fun, but a bit too flaky for anything serious. I'd also be afraid of a competition that gets outta hand. It's certainly not a dealbreaker though! At the very least, I'd prefer if she had good taste in music or sincerely liked my music. If she loved listening to crap on the radio and hated the stuff I liked, that might be a dealbreaker though. Although that makes it really tough for me, because most girls my age are into crappy music... IP: Logged |

It is my thread, so I can de rail it I never really said this to anyone, not in print lol I think that when you play music with someone, whom you think is attractive, it is better than sex. You go to this dimension, like riding a wave. You can touch this wordless, magical place, but you cannot stay. Do you know what I mean? ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Oh yea, I completely know what you mean! Actually, from my experience, the other person doesn't necessarily even have to be attractive, just click with you musically, on a telepathic level. There's been times I've felt high from it (like I smoked a huge doobie). It's funny, at one of my performances years ago, a music college student came up to me and told me "I can tell you're really passionate about playing. When you play, it feels and sounds like you're having sex with that guitar." Some people call it "axe molestation". IP: Logged |
