So just wanted to share that I am sitting here with my cat and she is probably going to die in the next few days. It feels silly to share this as I have seen animals die before and I know it is apart of life.

My baby has been with me for 14 years and it's funny how she use to get on my nerves when I first got her. She use to want to lay almost on my face instead of my chest and I didn't like anything that close to me to begin with. So I would move her and teach her to sleep above my head. For the rest of her 14 years this is where she has slept, no matter where I go in my house, she sticks with me or has stuck with me finding a spot to sleep close to my head. Over the years my kids and others have told me she must be my guardian angel because she keeps so close to me. She would always get on my nerves how in the morning times she would talk endlessly and I would make shhhhh noises because I was not exactly woken ready to hear any noise. She would get in the way of me getting ready to leave out by jumping on the counter and getting in front of me for me to pet her or sticking her head under the sink to drink water while I was trying to brush my teeth.

I am going to miss her so much!!!

Another member here at LL just went through the loss of their beloved older cat. Perhaps you can help each other by sharing?
I posted this at her thread:

I know how awful it feels.
I do not know if I could survive the eventual loss of my beloved friend; my precious older cat.
He is one of my main reasons to keep living.
I know some folks might think that is stupid; but he is my best friend.
My deepest sympathies to you.

So there you have it. Many folks on her thread can totally understand how heartbreaking losing a beloved friend is.
All the sweet and happy and even naughty things you have written are also things I do and experience with my cat.
My spouse has three cats but my cat is truly mine; I do not mind his cats but am not as close to them. Ever notice that cats choose who to attach to?
Well anyhow; just wanted to say, keep sharing please.
May your precious cat's passing be calm and gentle and peaceful.

Your cat is truly a guardian angel of yours, and I believe she will continue to be one after her passing. She may even reincarnate and come back to you in the form of a kitten. May she have a calm departure, and wherever she goes, part of her stays with you.

Thank you for this!!! I am one to find humor in things as it helps me to deal with my emotions but I read that talking to your animal means a lot to them, they love to hear your voice. So I told her that it was ok to go but to come back to me. I was telling her next time to come back as a dog, that way she could bark at everything since my dogs seem to get on her nerves. lol

btw, she was born dec 1st , 2003. I wander what our synastry charts are, why she is so taken to me. All my other family members seem to want her love, attention etc but I have always just more or less been like another cat to her, I guess. ( fickle and finicky)

Update on my baby, she seems to be doing ok. She is eating and drinking yet not sure if she is having seizures from time to time or if she is just positioning herself in a certain way. Defiantly a little more social and talks from time to time, her voice is still weak and she is unable to control her bowels. She still is very thin and weak, yet has days where she seems more strong.

Thank you everyone!!! Just wanted to give and update. I have the toughest baby in the world, she seems to have snapped out of things for the most part and seems a lot better. The only thing she has issues with is loss of her bowels but is moving around and being a lot more social. I never thought she would make it this long and I have been thankful for everyday that she has been with me!

My cat died today. She was doing really well but the last 2 days she had a turn for the worst. She got really weak and to the point she couldn't move and then died . She died peacefully. It's not been easy for me to deal with but I am glad she is in a better place, that she is not suffering anymore.

Sad about your loss.
I missed your post, as I have been preoccupied with a few things in my offline world.
Your baby had a good life with you and was loved and treasured by you.
That is more than many animals or even humans get out of life.
I am relieved that her passing was gentle even though a sorrowful thing for you.

I am terribly sorry for your
loss. I can understand as not
too far back I too lost my

I know how you feel, I lost merlin 2 months ago. He was a Daddy cat to a liter of 7 kittens he treated each kitten very well, he even tried to nurse each one.

The smaller cat is his daughter, I was so angry when he died. I went thought the why didn't we do this or why didn't you do that phase.
