Hello, Knowflakes!

I'm wondering, does any one do Yoga?

I started doing yoga in 1993, while in college. It was wonderful, and I have never felt better than when I was doing it every day. But, then, I quite doing Yoga when I got pregnanat, and I have not since gone back to daily yoga
I'll start, do it for two or three days, and then I stop for a week or more...
Does anybody have any helpful tips for sticking with it?

Infinity,

I have yogo videos I do. I love it. Wished I would discoved it before joining a gym and paying dues for something I never use.

I just tell myself, "you hate the gym (definately not my thing) no one to power walk with (something I love) and you're gonna be 41." That get's my butt up real fast! Vanity will cure the procrastination LOL j/k

I have different videos so I don't get bored.

INfinity...I used to do Yoga several decades ago, but haven't gotten back in it. But, and this may sound strange...lately I've been doing 'cat Yoga'. I have been stretching like a cat does. Not at any special time, but just when I feel like it.

My joints and muscles are looser than they have been in a long time.
I think the original person who started Yoga must have had a cat

In the 'old' days we didn't have videos, but books. I started out by trying to do as the 'book' said. Later joined a group, but like I said that was ages ago.

I'm in the same situation. Used to do it daily and loved it but when time became an issue I cut out the *me* time first Thats really a stupid thing to do. I plan on re-acquainting myself with it soon.

I'm the same way, Virgo, when there is a pinch for time, it is always ME who gets the boot Is that a typical thing to do? I, too want to change this!
I am very happy to have mutual support!
Now, I'm gonna go do some Yoga!!!

Never tried yoga, but I have heard only great things about it.

Hi Infinity ~

I do Yoga. I don't work until about noon-time each day so before I have breakfast I do my neck/back excercises and some Yoga in the mornings. My goal is to do it every single day but just like you, I have lagged on and off.

Just make a decision to do it every day; tell your mind firmly. Then ask your angels to keep you reminded every day at your chosen time; ask them to help support you in this wonderful great thing you are doing for your body!

I do Rodney Yee's Yoga tape and another one I forget the name and who.

Peace Out!

Nephthys and Breezy, I think maybe I should try getting some tapes, like you say
I took a Yoga class for College required PE, so that is how I came to know it. I have never had a tape, I just do what I know.
Maybe, that is part of the problem, what I know is so little (really) that I am bored with it...
I'll try some tapes, and Nephy, your advice is well taken, too I need to have MY time! YOGA time! And ask my Yoga to REmind me how important it is to excercise!

I do it - not everyday, I try to do it five or six days a week but of course I do slack sometimes.
The key is to make it habit - do it a few days in a row and let yourself feel the difference. THen, it will no longer feel like a job but something you look foward to. I like it cause I know no matter what kind of day I had or what went wrong, I can take time aside to do something for me no matter what. And in a non-destructive way, as opposed to using drugs and alcohol to cope.
The type of yoga I do is Kundalini Yoga, you might wanna check that out. 2 good videos - Kundalini Yoga by Gurmukh, and Chakra Yoga by Gurutej Kaur Khalsa. YOu move a lot but its also very spiritual, and chanting is involved.

Hiya Infinity

I started yoga about two years ago - and I think it's great stuff...
However, like you, I find it hard to do it every day - specially when everything seems to come before me time (I know what you mean Virgo Rising .
But Nephthys is right, you just have to tell yourself to do it every day One trick I learnt is to do a yoga 'quickie'- which is basically as many 'salutes to the sun' as I can fit in. I'm sure you know what salutes to the sun are - but if you don't I'm sure you can find the 12 steps in a book... When you do find yourself with some spare time (What's that?) Do the full yoga routine

Best of Luck

Hellos,
I have always wanted to do yoga but the instruction is hard to come by. Small town, third world country etc.... any first time excercises I could try for me? I'd love that. I think to really stick with something, you have develope the spiritual mind for it. Think about it, let it roll about in your head for a while and then act on it. It always works for me. Don't think about the obstacles, you'll cross them when you get there.

I've started to do Yoga for toning purposes. I quit playing soccer becuase of all the stress and anxiety it would give me, let's just say I'm not a very competitive person.
