I was making up some fried rice last night, and for the first time decided to add in some ginger root. I peeled off the outside stuff and when I smelled it I went completly loopy. The attraction I had to the smell and taste of that stuff was unbelievable! I even went as far as rubbing some of it on my wrists! Anyone know if there is a significant meaning to this? Also... for years now I have known that Im going to name my daughter Ginger.(when she comes) Even the name has special meaning to me. What could all this mean? It feels like something old and ancient in my head. Thanks guys...**Joga** IP: Logged |

I'm not sure why it has this effect. It sounds a lot like human catnip. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Joga - that is pretty funny, but its interesting you mention it. In the type of yoga Ive been practicing Ginger is a staple food they use. They use it in tea, food..anything, because it is a "warming" herb, it increases blood fow thru the body, detoxifies, gives you non-caffeine like energy, helps digestion, and they say its good for women during mensturating. I know we use it a lot here in the USA as a spice in cakes and things, but it originates in India and the Far East as an herb with medicinal value. Before the advent of modern medicine I'd assume this was even more widespread. Places like your wrists are points that tend to absorb, so it seems like you somehow already knew all this! IP: Logged |

Oh yes! With a little honey. Good for a sore throat as well. Ginger has antiseptic properties. IP: Logged |

Hey, thanks you two! I'm addicted to it! I have 4 roots in my fridge right now, and they have no where to go. Some people constantly get gum, some constantly get magazines, I constantly get Ginger root! Well, ok... I get magazines too.IP: Logged |
