I am quite above my intended weight right now and I need to work on that. I need some wholesome ways to do it and naturakky. I read about the red light theory and I am sure it works. Could you run me through it agan as I seem to have given out my Star Signs book? Any other help will be greatly appreciated.I am a sagittarian...

There is nothing better then excersise and optimism, it's the two things that most people lack. Find an activity you would like best. I don't really understand Linda Goodman's Red Light theory but it had a lot to with your mental outlook on wieght mass, which is why it works.
The only problem with excersise is that people don't like fitting it in too there day.
Which is why some of us suffer with wieght problems and mental gravity. You need to sacrifice atleast an hour of your day, for every day of your life.

Remember your the one that lives in your body and so you need to take care of it. You don't have to eat less but know your limit. Half of us (myself included) don't really go outside anymore and thats sad because our bodies need the optimism of the sun.

Hi Cassandra,

I'm not familiar with the red light theory, so I can't help you there...but the only thing I can suggest is that you find activities that suit your interest and lifestyle (i.e., swimming, running, walking the dog (if you don't have a dog, volunteer as a dogwalker at your local animal shelter), gardening, cycling, etc.). Then gradually cut out anything that may have the potential to either add on the pounds or affect your health. For me it was Coke (the drink)...I was drinking one or two cans of that stuff a day, and once I cut it out - along with pasta and breads - my weight went down. I also no longer give in to the urges I held...eating anything late at night, having fat-laden desserts, eating high-fat snacks....all of which, when added up, can add pounds to the physique.

If you find yourself feeling the urge to snack, ask yourself (honestly) if perhaps you aren't so much hungry as you are thirsty...quite often thirst can be diguised as hunger. Reach for some grapes instead of chips, or better yet, go outside for 10 minutes and walk or run when that snacking urge hits. It really does help.

Having been a bit overweight for most of my life, I can certainly sympathize with you. It's very hard to get this under control, but it CAN be done. And just remember...if you *fall off the wagon* so to speak, there is always the next day, and the next, and the next, to start again. Don't beat yourself up about setbacks; just take it all one day at a time.

Oh, and one other thing...if you have a bowl of soup before a main course, that tends to cut your appetite a bit, and may help to suppress the urge to overeat. Or have a salad with low-fat dressing if soup isn't something you enjoy....

Hi Cassandra

I was wondering if anyone tried Linda's diet. Basically it has to do with not having enough red in your aura which causes an imbalance and therefore weight gain. I cannot remember all the details but what I can remember is that you lie on your bed without any clothes on and shine a red light on your solar plexus area for 15 minutes while listening to rhytmic music. You the turn on your side and shine the light on the soles of your feet for another 15 min while still listening to the music. This has to be done at the same time everyday, either at dawn, midday or dusk. The actual diet I cannot remember that well but I know you have to eat a lot of red fruit and vegetables. You have to follow it for at least 45 days in a row.

Let me know how it goes!

Hello, Cassandra. When I see you wanna try with the chromatic diet, my desire is you do it. All the answers posted before are important, specially those about exercises. However, it's also true that an imbalanced color is dangerous for whole health, not only for overweight (please, see my posts in Uni-versal codes, at QueenofSheeba's "Pendulum Divination" title, and you'll understand something else about colors). So, my suggestion is you try with chromatic diet and the exercises. Here I'm helping two ladies in the diet. In two months or less you're gonna see the results.

This red light thing is so interesting!
I quit smoking cigarettes, among other things, a few years ago, and gained alot of weight from eating all the time. I did a few things to get my body back on track:
exercise all the time! It will speed up your metabolism too!
change anything with white flour to whole wheat: pasta, cous cous, bread, everything!
Vegetables are great!
Fruit is good but has sugar, just because sugar comes from fruit doesn't mean your body won't take hold of it, so just don't go nuts with the fruit!
I feel that high calcium intake is good, and high fiber foods make you feel fuller and are better for you (slow down insulin response)
so good luck! You can do it! Don't think of it as a diet, it's a way of life! And if you get off track- don't give up, just get back on track.

The best way to shed a few is to sweat, drink water...sweat, drink water...and repeat. I dropped an extra 5 pounds that way. I work outside in Phoenix, so its not that hard to sweat here. All I really gotta do is stand outside, and I'm good to go. Sweat baby, sweat. Sweating can get all thoes bad ole toxins out of you, just be sure to replace them with tons of H2O.
Take care love, and let us know how everything is working out for you.

Hello, Shruti. I have to tell you that the chromatic diet does work. However, it's important you trust it. The power of your mind is able to ensure the success, but it also can block any effort.

My suggestion is you try with the chromatic diet and respect every thing: exact time every day, colors of the food, the clothes... It will be only for two months (or less).

I want you obey these aditional details (taken from my personal experience with my "patients"). They are -I repeat- only for two months:

Do not drink cold water during the treatment;

Avoid leaving the city (if you live in one; if you are from the countryside, the green environment is not good for this diet. Get a place in a city or a town, away from the green fields, forest, etc. or keep inside your home as long as you can every day);

The hot shower is a special help. Do not bath
in any beach, river or any other non-heated water;

And my best counsel: have always a positive mind; trust in the chromatic diet. Keep in contact. Good luck!

Hello, Shruti. I'm seeing your mind is going to positive side. Remember, however, that I mentioned the shower as a personal experience, and it is according to Linda's book; she says energy yang [red-orange- golden ray (or beam, I'm not sure, my book is in Spanish)] must be restored to lose excessive weight. Those colors, you know, belong to the hot portion of the light spectrum.

Hence we also see the blue jeans belong to the cold side, and may offer resistance. Anyway, Linda mention our wear as a secondary suggestion, but she said we should obey that too.

Is a pair of months too long for you? I don't think so. Do not forget this: after two months you won't have to worried about the calories you eat or about how many hours you sleep or rest. Your belly won't grow again, and cellulitis won't ever knock on your door. Isn't wonderful? Don't surrender now, save that positive mind I saw in you.

SUCCESS!

Hello, theFajita. Sugar is an enemy when we need to lose some weight. However, we must remember that "sugar" is a commercial name. Seen that way, fruits have sugar, but the right way to see this matter is fruits have a different sugar. Sugar cane and sugar beet, which give us the commercial sugar, have Saccharose, not good for overweight, nor for health. The fruit's "sugar" is fructose, the perfect product to fabricate the true "sugar" our body needs: glucose.

Glucose is elaborated by our body in the liver (and other organs), using the source of sugar we choose.

So, there's no reason to get scared about the fruits' sugar; it is harmless, but a good source of energy.

Fajita, you're making me hungry

I've had the most luck exercising with weights. Not even very heavy ones. 5lbs do the trick. It really speeds up the process you don't necessarily loose pounds on the scale but you firm up and feel lots better. Plus you can eat more normally. It really burns the calories.

One more thing I have to have a video tape to follow or I just won't stick to a program. There are so many good ones out there. I like body electric with margaret richards. I think she has a site on the web.

I personally love kiwis, as they are low cal, and flavorful & high in potassium!

I have been reading all about the wonderful effects of Green Tea-studies show that it can help to AID in weight loss. It makes people lose a few more calories than one normally would.

Also, if you're like me and rather INactive, stay away from a lot of caffeine like coffee. It's only good for people who are active. That's hard for coffee addicts like myself!

Hello People,
Thanx for all the love. I have started the red diet thing and it's feels good simply because I belive it. I can't seem to find an appropriate bulb though. They only have upto 60Watts down here. Any good samaritan ready to send me a red screw bulb with above 75W? I am looking and now people think I am going nuts or something. So far though, I have lost two kilos in one week. Four glasses of ionised water and just red orange food for me. I have also gone back to being vegetarian. I am thinking about the excercise. I really hate exercise. However, thank you all for all your help and I'll keep you posted, aight!
