Hiya
i hope i have found the right spot for this question

Anyway, here goes...

i've read that the length of your hair can affect your energy levels - i.e. people with longer hair are more 'powerful'.

For example i have read that the Native Americans never cut their hair - and when some people were forced by early settlers to cut their hair they were ostracized untill it grew back...

Does anyone have some knowledge/advice in this area?? Should i cancel my appointment with my hairdresser??

Thanks
Nebel

Nebel, your theory sounds better, but here is mine!

Alot of people find that cutting their hair on a full moon causes it to grow back much faster- which is true in my case. If the moon can pull and push oceans, it can surely increase my hair growth rate.

So, if the hair IS affected by the moon and gravity, when the hair is longer, perhaps you feel more of a "tug" from the moon, perhaps you have more "strings" being "pulled" by the moon. So if this is true, maybe people with longer hair get a more mystical energy from this. I have very long hair, and feel in tune with the moon.

Or I could just be saying a dumb theory of my own :-) but in my opinion don't cut your hair- and if you do trim, do it on a full moon!

Greetings to the Fajita! Isn't trimming your hair during the New Moon supposed to make your hair grow back faster??

Perhaps I was wrong! All I know is that is when I got my hair cut, and boy did it grow fast (on a full moon). And I know alot of expensive salons in NYC follow the full moon theory too. Not that that is proof, but I always beleived it! Thanks for the greetings!

HI everyone, I cut hair for a living, been cutting for 20 years.
For your hair to grow faster you get it cut on the apex of the NEW moon.If you cut it on the full moon it will grow slower. (star signs).
The moon has lots of power,Farmers plant by it. women's cycles are affected by it, lots more.
I know sampson lost his energy when he cut off his hair.
I will pay more attention to the energy aspect of longer verses shorter and see what I can see. get back with you.

I happen to be native american also, Back in the day, Indians only cut there hair at the death of a relative.
Certain tribes have different rituals regarding hair and head dress.

Ive always felt that shorter hair gives me more energy. I had long hair for most of my life, and when I cut it off, I felt SOO much happier. I feel depressed whenever my hair starts growing past my shoulders. All this moon theory makes me wonder if it has anything to do with my Cancer sun.

One of my most psychic/spiritual friends has very, very short hair. I suspect that the link is the same as with everything else...it's all about what you believe. The power of thought is an amazing thing.

hi spin-boson,

oi, do i have a question for you! a silly one, but am very curious what your opinion is . . .

i have always had long hair, but i usually keep it up in a pony tail, french braid, twist, etc. etc.

it might have been because i grew up in sacramento, and because the weather was so hot, my mom always did my hair up like this.

so when i went to a stylist recently (a high-end salon), and he rudely said to me,

"why do you keep your hair up? most people keep it down if it's long. the only people who keep their hair up are old ladies and dowagers!"

i didn't tell him the point of me going to the salon was to gradually learn how to wear my hair down.

anyway!!!

my question is if you have encountered such clients in my situation?

probably not.

but i thought i'd ask anyway.

Actually, It's a very good question.
I would say without seeing you that you have been very creative with your long hair. I lOve braids and I like ponytails for exercise and yard work, ilove to garden too.
So you would like to try wearing it down?
One way to begin is to comb your hair up infront of your ears and clasp it high on the center of the scalp between the ears and let the back hang loose. This avoids hair in the face, whitch will be your first obstacle to get use to with your hair down. If you move it forward the puff will be more pronounced.
Use a 1 and1/2 curling iron to give you big curls-Do this first, then you can also do hippie braids in the front to help keep it from flying all around.
Do you have bangs?
I have a million styles and my hair is long also.
I want you to know that wearing your hair up can be very chic and sexy also very sexy is wearing it down. Themost important is keeping it clean, I also suggest that you use conditioner only from the ears down, paul mitchell-detangler the best.
You also might have to use a little hair spray on the ends when you curl it,since long hair can be heavy. Small curling irons can also give you great looks with spirals.
Practice and patience are key while you learn, but so fun to take care of yourself and it makes you feel good too. On lazy or can't think about my hair days-wear that ponytail girl.

Hello there. Interesting topic. I have to say that I support the theory written by Linda in Stars Signs (quoted by spin-boson). The truth is that full moon is against growing hair... and plants. The good gardeners say that we must not cut the leaves or transplant any bush when full moon, because the plants lose much sap. For the same reason, full moon is great when we have to weed the garden.

I cut my hair on a full moon (I'm a man)... and it works! My hair grows slower.
