Does anyone know if these can harm the body? I have been taking them for 3 years now and just realized this is unnatural. I would be interested to hear all of your opinions. thanks guys

How about that new birth control called the Patch? Now thats strange!

I believe that if your family has a history stroke or heart-attack then it would be best to get off the pill.

Hey, thanks for your response. No no one does. I was just wondering if the body is not meant to take things like the pill? Or is it not that big of a deal..
thanks,
hope everyone is having a great weekend!

hi fajita

i've never taken the pill before, but have considered it several times. but i think the reason i haven't actually started is because i too think about how "natural" it is according to my doctor (of course she's all for it). i just somehow don't feel comfortable about the ingestion of synthetic hormones to regulate something so personal, and powered by something greater than us. yes, i know about the whole "free-will" ideologic thinking, however, some things are simply beyond free-will (in my opinion). so what i have been doing, and has worked for the past 3 years---is the ovulation method, AND my personal astrological lunar fertility calendar.

Hi Fajita
I definately agree with Aphrodite, I think it's dangerous and I know from experience it made me depressed and made me gain weight even though I was taking the lowest dose (Diane-35) which was also supposed to be good for my skin. Please if you ask me don't take it even if you have no family history of heart-attack, it can cause other problems as well. In Linda's Love Signs in the afterword she also wrote that she thought the Pill was very dangerous. What about Astrobiology Birth control? I'm also having that problem and am going to try that method. If you are still not convinced try searching on the net about it and get more information and don't listen to the medical people.

Thank you soooo much everyone. I really appreciate all the input. I am going to do some research. Yes the pill has made me a little softer and those last few pounds will not come off. And don't worry, I am not going to read medical stuff :-)

It's funny- just when I think I've gotten everything I ingest down to a good source, I realize, hello! I'm taking hormones?! Thanks guys!

I have been on the pill since I was 19...I am 28 now.

I have a history with "female problems"...my cycle was regularly irregular LOL...when I was 19, I had an ovarian cyst removed as well as the beginnings of endometriosis.

The pill has helped me immensly in this area....though i did have to have surgery again 2 years ago to remove a grapefruit sized cyst from my other ovary (it was scarry becasue they first thought it was ovarian cancer).

I have not gained any weight from the pill...I am the same weight I was when I graduated high school...5'3" and 117lbs.

I don't smoke nor does my fmaily have ahistory of stoke or heart attack.

Female trouble runs on my Mom's side...my great grandmother died of uterine cancer and both my Mom and Aunt had hystorectomies at young ages (26 for my aunt...34 for my Mom)...so I look at this as a way to preserve my fertility until I meet someone..settle down..and have kids...because I long for them.

The pill is a touch choice for some...but I felt that it was either the pill...or risk infertility when I so much want to have kids....my choices were limited.

Fajita...everyone is different but for me...when I work out...I lift weights too and I concentrate on large muscle groups like the legs and butt for lower body and chest/lats/traps for upper body along with the smaller muscle groups....BUT...I have also learned to stay away from sugar because it really affects me in an awful way...I watch my simple carbs like white bread/pasta/rice and try to eat as many "whole" food as I can....I do not eat meat...maybe some chicken once or twice a week....mostly seafood and soy protein.

Not a lot of work for me...most of my diet has nothing to do with staying slim and everything to do with keeping me feeling my best....most high fat foods...and lots of protein irritate my stomach...I have IBS...so I try to eat high fibre.

I know other people who have gained weight taking the pill and others who have not.....it affects women differently.
