Can someone please help me? I keep reading in one of my health books about certain vitamins and minerals and alot of them I feel I could use more of, and they list Brewer's Yeast as a source. Well I was just at Whole Foods and they told me nutritional yeast was the same,so I bought that. Now before I go and include this in my diet, can anyone tell me if this is the same thing or am I totally off? thanks so much------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

Well I was interested in the nutritional yeast because it has a ton of vitamins in it, especially B which my birth control pills can make me low in. So I have been mixing a heaping tablespoon in with juice or water and wow- what an energy kick! I drank one cup of coffee at work today out of habit, but i really didn't need it (normally I need a few.) I just wanted to let people know that I am very happy with how I feel adding the nutritional yeast to my diet!------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

Yeast works best if taken with plain lemon juice - vitamin B needs vitamin C to get absorbed into the body. You mix the two and you get a really horrible-tasting little drink. But it's good for you! (as our mothers always used to say) By the way, Fajita, thanks for the reply in that other thread!

Lemon juice! Any excuse to use lemon juice works for me!! (I love it, that and limes) No problem, thanks for the vitamin C tip- I didn't know that. But let me tell you, when I drank my little yeast concoction (which is perfectly safe to anyone concerned) I felt like a million bucks afterward! I never realized how much the B vitamins do for you!------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

That mix is supposed to do wonders for your skin if you drink it every morning. Mine got a lot softer, that's true. Didn't help with acne, though. I drank it when I was in high school, but I gave it up because I couldn't stand the taste. It's funny that vitamin B gives you a boost, as you say. Since I started taking it, I think I'm a lot calmer because otherwise I'm a really nervous person, but I keep it all inside, so I'm under constant stress. But vitamin B complex really helps me, I can't imagine why haven't I tried it before. My nerves are so thankful to me now. shine on IP: Logged |

that's funny that it gives us different effects. Looks like it puts our energy levels where they need to be. Mine up, your less nervous.yes, the taste is, er, something awful! But it's the effects that make me go back! thanks ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |
