help helpI suffer from headaches a lot. have seen a neurologist and had brain scans and everything. He says I have 'classic' migraines. Unfortunately.. I will have two or three months where only 2 or 3 days out of a month I DON'T have a headache. Then I'll have a month or two with only a couple mild headaches. now it seems I've started another cycle of headaches because for the past two weeks I've had a headache... and today it seems to be a very angry headache... ararrarararrrrrghhhhhh! It's like I can't really think straight. i've tried over the counter meds and perscription stuff that will knock me out... if it doesn't render me unconscious then it doesn't work does anyone have any ideas or suggestions or help help? ------------------ and if your world has turned to ashes, i will leave you never even when the sun's blown out, i will shine forever.. i caress you with my charms, i'm your best friend, the dream.. i'm the light that guides you through the nights and deepest haze

Amber,I can truly empathize with you and your migraines...I remember my mother being hospitalized for them when I was young, and I seem to have inherited them. I get them only once every two to three months now, but when I do, I feel like death would better. The pain, the blindness, the sickness is so encompassing that I pray for unconsciousness. Actually, this week I have had a severe toothache that no OTC drug will help, even mega-doses. Pain in the head is the worst...you can't even think. I have the book "Heal Your Body" by Louise Hay and she says this about migraines: Cause: Dislike of being driven. Resisting the flow of life. Sexual fears. (Can be relieved by sexual release.) Affirmation: I relax into the flow of life and let life provide all that I need easily and comfortably. Life is for me. Hope it helps... I'm trying to ease my toothache through this book since nothing else will work! Kate IP: Logged |

Hiya Amber Katie Just a couple of suggestions - most of my family suffer from migraines (except me thank God) and here are a few things that seem to have helped them... -Do you drink enough water? My uncle finds that he gets them when he's dehydrated... -Do you drink a lot of coffee, tea - or eat foods that contain caffeine? My Dad finds that if he stops drinking coffee it can trigger a migraine... - Do you grate your teeth at night, or during times of stress? My Pa got a special tooth guard made up that he wears during the night (Which stops him grating his teeth) He hasn't had a migraine since he got the guard fitted... - and my suggestion... have you had your kidneys checked? Sometimes head type problems can be related to an ill kidney... this also may be related to not drinking enough water... I know these are little suggestions you've probably already tried - but hopefully they MAY help Always the best - i hope you find a solution soon Nebel IP: Logged |

Omega 3 fatty acids won't stop a migraine, but 1000 MG a day will usually prevent them. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Could it be sinus pressure? Massaging the sinus passages really helps when I get a sinus headache.------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

I am lucky enough to suffer from very few headaches, but when I have a fever (once a year) the headaches come out to play so I can definitely understand the pain, even if it was not migraine-strong it was very bad.My theory of headaches is thusly. I have not been able to test it very much because I do not get headaches often. Headaches are caused by toxic blood. This bad blood, containing toxins recently excreted by tissues or cells in the body that were storing the toxins, comes into contact with the membrane surrounding your head. Then the membrane, like all membranes exposed to toxins, swells up, becomes inflamed, and basically hurts like hell. Key points: * body cells and tissues store toxins for later processing * toxic blood comes into contact with membranes in the body, whether in your head or elsewhere * swelling ensues, often painful (and of course, totally misdiagnosed) Solutions are far and few in between. I can offer the following solutions, but without any temporal guarantees: * Drink more pure water * Avoid artificial flavors, synthetic sugar substitutes (aspartame, sucralose, etc.) caffeine, MSG, chocolate, car exhaust, medications, painkillers, sedatives, alcohol, smoking, second hand smoke, fumes, cleaning chemicals, pesticides, asbestos, any foods and substances you find yourself allergic to--and do as many allergy tests as possible * Start fasting with water, fast a lot, especially according to the way Linda instructs * Stop looking for the problem in your head. That is not where the problem is. It is probably in your body tissues, fat, liver, glands, and kidneys. Have them examined, X-rayed, or cut out; they contain many toxins IP: Logged |

I have a theory that headaches are created when we have warring thoughts. When we have two opposing thoughts and we are trying to sort out which one we believe, we get a headache. Migraines, maybe are a different story though. Migraines can be reduced in severity when you feel one coming on, by drinking pepperment tea, using accupressure on your temples, cold cloth on the forehead and warm cloth on back of the neck at same time, and other such remedies if you work at it as you feel the migraine coming on. Through personal experience I know they work, they will reduce the intensity of the migraine down to a dull headache. Other than than, I would advise that you see a chiropractor as I have seen for myself that this really does help! ------------------ My job is to master my "responses" to external events......NOT to attempt to control them. Amber......Mentholatum makes a wonderful headache patch. I am not sure how it works, but you apply it to the forehead or to the temples, depending on where the pain is. When you remove the backing and apply it to the skin, it become instantly cold and remains so for hours. It is a blessed relief. I suffer from migraines and have all my life and these are heaven sent. Not very expensive...about $6-7 per box.------------------ Hugs,LTD ~~The struggle keeps us young~~Daring to make mistakes and knowing there are none.~~DGM IP: Logged |

Amber,The headache problems are indicated in your natal chart. The transits will probably only fluctuate the severity of the pain. From what I can see, they are probably stemming from high-strung activity, mental stress and anxiety, power issues with control, and erratic tendencies. Questioning and asking yourself why these symptoms are happening and why you are putting strain on your mental health will open up the channels to heal yourself. Neptune opposes your Gemini stellium; looking for outside sources of relief will most probably prove to be elusive and diffuse. The ruler of your 6th house of health is Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, which is in your Gemini stellium conjuncting your Venus and Mars. I suspect the roots have are emotional in nature and have snowballed into the mental anxieties aforementioned. I just sense emotional "jail" for some reason. I don't quite know why. You are an intense individual, and probably have a hard time with balance and natural relaxation. Your mind, body and emotions are nearly always at "GO." Your north node, coincedentally, is in your 6th house of health trining your Gemini stellium. One of your lessons in this life is to learn how to heal your body by working on your emotions and understanding how to balance your mind. The north node in Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, which is in your 3rd house of mental activities sitting in direction hard opposition to your Aries Sun. You have your Moon in the 7th house. Did you marry or become engaged quite young, by chance? Just curious. Aphrodite IP: Logged |

wow!! What wonderful people this board has! Thank you everyone for your help.Katie ~ thank you I'll try to relax a bit. Nebel ~ I do drink tons of water! I always make sure to because I don't want to get worse headaches. I don't really drink caffeine and I don't think I grate my teeth. Never thought of my kidneys though. I won't be able to get that checked for a while. Randall ~ I didn't know that! I have some supplements I can take. Flax seed oil. Fajita ~ nah sinus pressure is totally different but that's not fun, either!! Mercury ~ I'll start looking into some of that. I should stop drinking tap water! elfilosophy ~ I'll try the clothes, too! Thank you I used to see a chiropractor but I can't afford it anymore. My neck is crooked so I know that causes some headaches. La-Tee-Da ~ I'm going to look for those tomorrow when I have a little money! Aphrodite ~ Aries are prone to headaches, aren't they? I've been lucky that the past month I've only had a few mild headaches. Yes my mind is always on GO! A lot of the time I'll get a migraine because I won't sleep for 4 or 5 days. As for engagements... I did get engaged when I was 19 to Sean but it didn't work out. I didn't get married until I was 27 to Vincent.

I didn't want to leave anyone out because I appreciate all of the input! This month hasn't been bad. I've only had a couple mild headaches. They seem to come in cycles. I'll have a couple months of only mild ones and then a month of a migraine. Hopefully when migraine month comes I'll be a little better prepared IP: Logged |

hrmm well I've always had headaches but they only turned into migraines after I gave birth (which the doctors tell me is common). And I moved to Los Angeles 3 months after I gave birth, too. So... it could be a little home sickness and stress and being an Aries! heh!IP: Logged | |
