The natural color for human teeth is yellow. We insist on bleach and toothpaste and whiteners, all of which only make our teeth weak and vulnerable to decay. I once saw a lion (with yellow fangs) bite into a turtle shell! And when was the last time you saw a lion or tiger go to the dentist? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Yea those bleaching products weaken the enamel on your teeth. As someone who has personally ruined alot of my enamel on my teeth from my lemon/lime eating habit I don't recommend it! I am sure they look fine. I know cigarettes make it worse so don't smoke (much if you do). Coffee supposedly stains teeth but I am helplessly addicted (at least on mornings I have to wake up early). But don't worry I am sure you look fine! ------------------ food is the only art that nourishes! Apart from giving up/cutting back on staining agents (coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, berries etc.), you might consider purchasing one of those battery-operated handheld electric toothbrushes, and giving yourself a 2-minute long brushing (but not rough!! be steady and gentle!).Most people, including myself, don't take the time for a proper brushing, and it all adds up to ur smile not being as healthy as it could be-- and as healthy-looking, too! If you do engage in staining habits (i.e. see above!), the perhaps start packing a portable toothbrush with you and try brushing more often after your mid-morning coffee, for example. But the key word is "gentle" -- my new dentist was very unhappy that I had been using hard or medium brushes for years-- apparently that's a no-no with enamel, so unless you have dentures or caps of special needs dentalwork, go for a SOFT brush at all times! theFajita makes a great point about citrus-- too much acidic juices and frtuit can erode enamel too. My sister learned that from her daughter's dentist-- kid's dentists are beginning to refer to a phenomenon of "juice kids", where the baby teeth of kids given too much juice are getting more cavities, and are stained!! They are now warning mothers to cut down the juice intake before the kids get their permanent teeth! So SMILE everybody! cheers, Lunargirl IP: Logged |
