When Linda talks about Purple Plates, can they be a normal kitchen plate or does it have to be a special plate?

Not sure if those are good prices or rather spendy. Sisterdreamwatcher suggested going to a shop that does adonizing(sp?) she thinks this may be a less expensive way to go.
Anyway it goes I am getting those plates !!!!!!
