Hi everyone I came home for a couple of hours to get some things done while my older daughter is with Melinda. Here's the latest: The surgery took 3 hours, but the Dr. said according to the preliminary frozen section taken, the mass was BENIGN!! He did say there was still a few days until the final pathology report comes in, but he's pretty confident all is well. This thing was huge...they took pictures of it...and she lost her right ovary and tube, but everything else looks good and she should still be able to conceive in the future. I had both my children with one ovary, so we're not too worried there. She IS in a lot of pain, of course. She's been on a morphine drip which helps, but unfortunately is very nauseous from it, and very drowsy. This morning the Dr. told us they must reduce the morphine and begin oral medication in order for her to get up and begin moving around; then her nausea should subside and she hopefully will be able to eat something. I'm not sure now whether she'll be released by Wednesday; it will depend on how she does today. So...the worst is over and Melinda will begin to heal...the only variable will be the time it takes her to get well enough to come home. I may stay over again tonight, but I'll return and post once she's back here and settled. THANK YOU everyone, for all you prayers, good thoughts and well wishes. I KNOW it's made the difference. Bless you!! I'll be in touch soon. IP: Logged |

Hi all Just thought I'd let you know that Melinda came home Wednesday evening and is doing well. Once the morphine was removed, she "woke up", got her appetite back, and is now walking more easily. I just know that being home will be more conducive to her recovery. Thanks again for your kind replies. I you guys! TTYL Twin Lady IP: Logged |

SunShyne Thank you for asking. Melinda is coming along; she can take a shower herself now and is pleased to be able to fit into some clothing that had become too tight. She is slender to begin with...so the mass, incredibly, looked like nothing more than a bit of a "tummy bulge" which we all thought meant she was gaining a little weight. Anyway...she's quite FLAT now, and happy about that. She sees the Dr. Thursday for a post-op check of her incision, so I'll post an update then. IP: Logged |

Oh juniperb You are so sweet to ask how I'M doing! My answer would be, regarding Melinda...good! I've been so relieved about her prognosis that I honestly haven't minded at all, the extra work in caring for her. That's what Moms do, right? HOWEVER...and I was going to wait till Monday to bring this up on a new post...: my OLDER daughter (HER name is Amanda) now has the SAME PROBLEM!! After getting an ultrasound a few days before Melinda's surgery, she was told SHE has a cyst on her left ovary...7 centimeters. She also has had chronic menstrual problems that 4 months on the Pill did not correct so her Dr. finally ordered the sonagram. Sooooo...here we go again. She sees a specialist Monday morning; and will probably need bloodwork, possibly a CAT scan...and definitely some kind of surgery. It is the (first) Dr.'s hope that a more conservative approach will be feasable; ie going through the navel with a laprascope (sp?), draining the cyst for testing...then if there's no malignancy (please God!), removing it but saving the ovary. I will post as I learn more. I just can't believe this is happening again...same thing, both daughters, at the same time. I was thinking of asking someone here if they would look into each of my daughters' birth charts and progressions to see if they could find indications of what's been going on. They do both have Pluto in Scorpio and Amanda has a Scorp Ascendant...but I'm wondering more about the Pisces connection (Melinda's Sun, Amanda's Moon... and my Ascendant, BTW)...and Saturn's recent transit through Gemini (Amanda's and my Sun)...plus Pluto's transit through Sagittarius (Melinda's Ascendant). I would prefer not to post their birthdates though, so if there are any takers...please get my e-mail address from Randall or give him yours for me. It's not vital; I'm just curious...and stunned...that this is all happening at once...not to mention...exhausted from worry over the two most precious people in my life. In the meantime, please keep us all in your prayers. Thanks. TTYL, Twin Lady IP: Logged |

Courage, Twin Lady!I sense that a long line of karma is being healed through these interventions... the three of you are managing to change the destiny of your very DNA. It will work out well for Amanda, too -- please take care of yourself, because it's important to not get too exhausted through your daughters' situations -- you don't need to collapse afterward and continue the cycle of illness -- remember to breathe -- you will all be fine. Twinlady, I just saw this I am so sorry you have to go through this. I agree, it's very Scorpio-like, happening all at once, affecting reproductive organs, demanding all your energy to stay positive, and, like Lunargirl already said, 'purging'. Maybe you'll find something here you can make sense of: http://65.18.208.8/articles/anatomdeg.php Lunargirl said it all so beautifully I can only add this: stay strong, everything will be fine. I had several cysts, most of my friends likewise, and we're all fine. Maybe the cyst will burst on its own and she won't need surgery. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your daughter and sending her s to watch over her. and light to you and your daughters IP: Logged |

Hi Morgana Thank you for asking about us! Melinda is doing very well. She's back to almost all her former activities, though the Dr. says no abdominal exercises for a while yet because there are still a lot of internal stitches that need to heal. Otherwise, she's good. Amanda had her pre-admission tests last Thursday (17th) and will be getting her surgery this upcoming Thursday (31st). I plan on posting a request here for prayers and healing light for her. She admittedly is worried (as am I) because though her ovarian cyst is considerably smaller than Melinda's was (7 cent. compared to 25 cent.), she has been bleeding nonstop since April. I'm doing my best to be positive...talking with others who have been through it has helped a lot. I didn't realize, but apparently having an ovarian cyst is fairly common. Anyway, hopefully by this time next week it will all be over and she will be on her way to recovery too. As soon as I get the chance I'll post the outcome/results of her procedure. As for me, I've been around...if a little quieter, lol. I do miss the great conversations we shared in the Lunar Scorpio thread though. You are welcome to ask Randall for my e-mail address if you like; as I know you understand also being a Lunar Scorp, some things are too private for public discussion. I'd love to hear from you, but of course it's your decision. Either way, I hope you're doing well. Take care, and again, thanks for remembering us. Twin Lady IP: Logged |
