Ok, this is a little embarrassing. I have pretty bad neck/shoulder pain and feel like i need to lie down as soon as i get home. I can't find any bras that are comfy. My friend wqas telling me yesterday that he has another female friend with that problem and that she learned some exercises that will help. I'm wondering if anyone here has any exercise tips? Surgery isn't an option for me. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Most women use the wrong bra size. The correct size usually solves this (have to be measured accurately). ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." If it's muscular, I do have a suggestion...I've used these two products in combination for years on a couple of different aches and pains. Had severe pain in my knee due to a couple of falls on it, but this stuff has virtually healed the problem...I no longer have pain. When I first start using them, the pain was so bad I was limping. The work synergistically, and I got this info from a semi-alternative doctor who publishes a monthly health newspaper. Sorry, I can't recall his name.Anyway, the first product is "Penetran," it's a pain reliever often used for arthritis. Wal-Mart's pharmacy will order it for you and have it in just a couple of days. It's inexpensive. The other product is "DMSO." No, it hasn't been approved for use on humans, it's been used on the joints of horses for many years. But lots of humans use it to no ill effect. But it's a solvent, so you must be sure your hands are very clean before applying it, then wash them completely when done...and of course be sure the area to which you are applying it is very clean, too. DMSO is available at farm and animal supply stores...aren't you in NYC? There has to be some place that carries it, or maybe find it online. It, too, is inexpensive. Use the Penetran, then the DMSO over it 2-3x per day. It might make your skin mildly itchy. I've even used it on lower back pain. Members of my family have used this on joints, shoulder problems, etc., and no one has had any ill effects. Hope this helps! IP: Logged |

Nah, I've been fitted and all that. Couldn't seem to tear myself away from the fashionable suff though...over comfort. Hey trillian-thanks for the info. I'm not having joint pain, just muscular pain. Since I think it's something that can be helped with exercises, I'm a little weary of using pain killers. I used pain killers twice in my life (after getting my wisdom teeth out and last year after another surgery), and I simply ca't function on them. Couldn't wait to be off of them. I know it's different, but I'm looking for a non-medicinal way, if possible. This is not to say I don;t appreciate your advice. I love learning about new things. IP: Logged |

I find the cotton, seamless ones are the most comfortable. They don't enhance the shape like underwired ones do but at least you're not aware of them.IP: Logged |

I don't know if there's a lot of exercise that would help since the breasts are primarily composed of fatty tissue.IP: Logged |

Hi Oxychick,I guess you've already tried the medical route? I ask because my mother went through a lot of shoulder pain that she "soldiered" through stoically (well not really, she complained a lot! ). She finally made it to her doctor, who referred her to a physiotherapist, and learned she was apparently on her way to a "frozen shoulder", with really limited ability -- but the exercises helped her get mobility back. I'm afraid I won't be able to obtain the exercises for you, but I bet if you followed up physiotherapy and sports medecine leads, online or otherwise, you'll find good info. Meantime, maybe one of those inner-bra camisoles or a tankini might help with the conflict on your "front lines". cheers, Lunargirl IP: Logged |

Kava kava is *amazingly* good for muscle pain. Don't worry about buying the most expensive type. My husband and I buy the one that is $4.77 a bottle for 100 pills at Wal-Mart and it works like a charm.
