Hi, Last week I was in horrible pain. We thought it was a migraine though I've never before had one, but it went on for days. My head was pounding, I couldn't move or pick up my head, I was vomiting, I didn't eat for four days or get out of bed.... it was just awful. i went to the doctor and he gave me pain meds. but the pain meds didn't help. so one night when it was particularly bad, we went to the ER (my boyfriend and I) and they did all these tests on me for ensepholitis and something else but it came back fine. they gave me some pain meds and sent me home. days passed and i was getting worried b/c school started in only a week and i had to be all right enough to teach and go to classes (just started grad school). my pain worsened and they kept giving me stronger pain meds. i was so drugged. Upon hearing me, my mother told me to get off the pain meds and take aspirin every four hours constantly. It was only then when I started to be able to eat and walk again. Now I'm feeling much better but I get little teasing headaches, saying "see? we can happen again..." I don't know WHAT all that was... anyway, what i'm trying to say amidst my blathering is.... could you send some healing energy my way? And if anyone of you is gifted enough to pick up on symptoms and such, I'd appreciate it. Perhaps it was just stress, I don't know. Miraculously, though, it cleared up just in time for me to back to school. Peace and love, truly, LMB IP: Logged |

Hello LMB So sorry to hear you've been in so much pain; I'm glad you're feeling better now. The symptoms you described do sound like migraine, albeit in your case quite extreme. My ex used to get them severe enough to cause the vomiting. What helped him was to lie down in a dark room, eyes closed, and yes...aspirin. Would you say you've been under an unusual amount of stress lately? I ask because this was the case with him and once the stress was dealt with, the migraines disappeared. Stress will manifest itself physically, different ways in different people; i.e. for me it's always my stomach re gastritis, others have anxiety attacks, or migraines, even arthritic pain. In any case, looking at recent events/situations in your life may lend some insight as to a reason for your pain. Hope this helps. Anyway...healing light being sent your way! IP: Logged |

LMB -- there are different categories of migraines. Sometimes the first one is the most severe. Your head will be sore and sensitive for a little while yet.Stress and food intolerances can trigger migraines. I found that mine were expressions of unexpressed anger, frequently at persons or situations where I felt I had no power, or where it was taboo to speak up. Having the migraine enabled me to express great anger yet punish myself for it at the same time. Why not take advantage of your school's health clinic once you get there? Good luck! Light to you! i think if these little headaches persist you should definitely get a cat scan.I've heard if people getting viral menengitis which is different from the bacterial. viral causes those symptoms but goes away on its own with no antibiotic. i would also get your eyes checked god bless and good luck IP: Logged |

Thank you everyone for your responses and I'm sorry I haven't written back until now. I have been headache-free since then, luckily. I WAS and still am under an unusually large amount of stress so no wonder my body freaked out. I just hope it stays away. Thank you all for your suggestions. I really do appreciate it. It helped to know I was not alone here. LMB IP: Logged |
