Hi,Can anyone offer me some insight about the Moon and medical procedures? I know that the Moon will be in Cancer the next couple of days. Should only invasive procedures be avoided during that time? (if so, what is "invasive"?) Also, what about as it relates to the part of the body ruled by the sign the Moon is transiting? Thanks! IP: Logged |

Should you now change it to Virgo? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

I think invasive relates to surgery (placing a scalpel into the skin). But with today's technology, invasive has a broader meaning. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Oxychick,To the best of my understanding, one should not have surgery when the Moon is transiting the sign that rules the part of the body the surgery is performed on; i.e. Scorpio rules the reproductive system, so any surgery re that part of the body should be avoided. (I knew someone who had a hysterectomy while the Moon was transiting Scorpio, and she had all kinds of complications (she didn't listen to my cautions). The other thing I think Linda mentions in Star Signs is to avoid surgical procedures when the transiting Moon is SQUARING the sign that rules the part of the body being operated on (something about the cross reference; not sure). A positive example is my daughter's surgery back in August. She had a huge tumor removed (along with her ovary), but her recovery went extremely well. The transiting Moon was in Aries that day, making no squares or conjunctions to Scorpio. Hope that helps. IP: Logged |

Happy to hear that good news Twin Lady!Interesting topic, does anyone know off the top of their heads which sign rules the stomach? Is it Leo? I'll have to go check, but that seems like a logical progression since the chest/breasts are Cancer... Or maybe I'm completely wrong here... IP: Logged |

trillian, thanks I believe Cancer rules the chest/breasts and the stomach both, while Leo is the heart and back. IP: Logged |

TwinLady, you were right, I looked it up!Now, besides not scheduling surgery during the transiting moon in the sign that rules the body part....does anyone know for sure whether one needs to be concerned about the transiting moon SQUARING the ruler of that body part when scheduling surgery? Thank you! IP: Logged |

trillian Do you have Star Signs? If you do, the chapter "An Apple A Day" covers most of what's been discussed here. On page 43 Linda quotes Hippocrates, "Touch not with iron that part of the body ruled by the sign the Moon is transiting." She goes on to say, "It means this: One does not perform a surgical procedure with a knife (iron) upon a part of the patient's body which is ruled by (associated with) the astrological sign through which the Moon is moving at that time." Then she gives specific explanations followed by several true stories that demonstrate what can happen if this warning is not observed. As for the question regarding the Moon transiting a sign squaring the one that rules the part of the body being operated on, I skimmed through and couldn't find an actual warning about this...but on pages 61 through 65 she discusses the CROSSES (cardinal, fixed, mutable) as "sympathetic parts" of the body, associated with each other, and how a problem in one part of the body can stem from another part. At any rate, I decided to play it as safe as possible for my daughter's date of surgery, considering the seriousness of the procedure. They actually took pictures of that THING which was removed from my child's body...it was horrible, and the fact that she healed so quickly and so well without complications, is proof to me that heeding the warnings made all the difference. Hope that helps! IP: Logged |

TwinLady, thank you. Yes, I do have Sun Signs, I've had it for many many years. And I do recall that one should avoid having surgery done while the transiting moon is in the sign that rules that area of the body. But if you then throw in squares, well, you begin to limit your options with hospitals that don't always want to hear about astrology!! Still, the bottom line to consider is one's health... Perhaps I can pose the question of squares in the Astrology Forum, for advice from the astrologers there... Thank you TwinLady! And aren't you brave for looking at the pic of that thing! I'm glad she is well... IP: Logged |
