I was thinking of going on the red color diet to shed unwanted weight (never mind the fact that I do not as yet have any of the required stuff, lol!) and I was wondering, as far as the dietary requirements went, are white flour and white sugar allowed for the duration of the diet period, or not? Also, what about stuff like potato chips and tortilla chips, which are made from yellow or white corn?
And what happens if you cook cheese and it gets kind of roasted and brownish and crunchy on the top? Can you still eat it? And what about nuts like almonds that are white on the inside? Can you soak and peel them and eat the insides safely?

Hi alchemiest,
There are quite a few threads concerning this very subject, here in LL! If you do a quick search, I'm sure you'll find them. Also, many of your questions are answered in Linda's Star Notes, which are also available through a link here in LL (I think you'll find the link in Free For All).

In short, yes white sugar and flour are allowed...corn products are also allowed...
and nuts are only allowed on the Skinnies list.

Check out the other threads and I think you'll find a wealth of information!

Good Luck!

ok, I was looking through the old threads, and I pretty much understand the food stuff now. But I didn't find anything on the red glasses. Where is it possible to buy ruby red drinking glasses? I live in Maryland, so if anyone knows any places in Maryland where they are available, it would be wondefullness!

*sigh*
I still haven't found any
I am thinking of going to a restaurant and asking where they buy their glasses, or if I can buy 4 off of them.
Does anyone know where I could buy those pretty ruby red plastic restaurant glasses?

I hope this helps....
I was just at Target about 3 days ago, and they have a new line of dinnerware thats ALL ruby red....including very pretty glasses and goblets!
When i saw them the first thing i thought was that they would be perfect for anyone wanting to try the red light diet.....
Since its a national wide chain, hopefully there is one nearby for you..and they are reasonably priced too....

Good luck!

I found not only ruby red glasses, but ruby red pitches (with lids!) at one of the Dollar Bargain stores for just two bucks! The pitchers were very convenient.

I also have some of the red bulbs left over, if anyone needs them I can send them off.

alchemiest, do you have an email address where I can contact you to get your mailing adress?

Cancerian Moon...the only suggestion I can make for you, so that you don't go into a lot of expense, is to use your 60 watt bulb, perhaps for a slightly longer period of time, maybe an extra ten minutes. It's just a thought.

I think mine are 100 w...I'm sorry, but it would be cost prohibitive for me to send a bulb to Australia, from the States.

I'll be in touch sometime this week to get your address.

I did try the color diet...if you peek around LL, you'll quite a few threads on the subject, including some that detail my experiences. I'd recommend that you also read Linda's Star Notes, which include additional info on the program. I was not successful with the color program, but of course mine is only one voice of many.

Small question here: which John Philip Sousa march is the best to listen to during the red color baths? Or, atleast, which march would you guys reccomend?

Just wanted to say that I got my bulbs from the contact that was in the Star Notes. The first time around I think that I may have gotten the run-around but then I got someone who knew what was what and I got them for about 15 dollars apiece. I think that they only had 100w though.

Also, I have been seeing a lot of ruby-red glassed around and I went to Pier 1 and they had this ruby red candle holder that lookes like a giant goblet.
