Does anyone here practice Transcendental Meditation, or can anyone here give me some details on how it is done...?(Call me stingy, but $100's of dollars to learn the technique through a college is a little out of my budget!!!) Thanks for any help LOL Nebel IP: Logged |

hey Nebel! I learnt basic TM a few years ago. basically, they make you watch a couple of videos on the Maharishi then give you a 'mantra' and tell you to keep repeating it in your mind while clearing all your thoughts. Then you have to keep practicing it. yep. That's about it. frankly, I think that this is a wonderful technique to aid one along their path- up to a point. You eventually outgrow it, as you do other aids that might eventually become crutches if you aren't careful. I have come to the personal realization that TM is not the path for me. This is not to say it is not a wonderful path, because it is. But you have to find the path that fits you (or the path that you fit ) If you do not have the funds necessary to learn TM at present, then perhaps you could consider other healing paths. Reiki can be learnt for about $150 on average for the first degree, and includes many meditation techniques that I found to be as helpful as TM. You could also look into Pranic healing, Magnified healing, and the Melchizedek method of healing amongst many others. You may find some of these highly beneficial to you Good luck! IP: Logged | |
