I haven't been here in so long. I went a little bit off track. Any way I was wondering if anyone had ever read the book Fit for Life. I wasn't able to read all of the book, but from what I remember it really supported eating lots of veggies and fruits. I'm too obese and I hate it. But most of all there is a history of diabetes and heart disease in my family. I want to find something that I can live with. I tried going on Atkins and needless to say I was not comfortable on it. Too much meat for me which I could do without, but my fruit and veggies is something else altogether. Just curious and wanted some views. So great to be back by the way. Sweetpea if your still here, just to let you know that you cross my mind often. Love, missyIP: Logged |

Hi Missy, The basic premise of Fit for Life is proper food combining.Generally, these are the rules: -- fruit is to be eaten alone. Eat fruit in the morning. No carbs or proteins, only fruit till noon. Fruit can't be digested with other foods properly. -- Do not combine proteins and starches. In other words, you can't eat meat and cheese with anything but non-starchy veggies. -- If you're eating a potato,(or pasta and bread) you can eat it with veggies, but not with meat or cheese. I've over-simplified it a bit, here are some links where you can find out more about food combining. http://www.formerfatguy.com/food-combine.asp http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/food-combining.htm Most of the time, I practice food combining. It just makes me feel better. Suzanne Sommers' program is low-carb, but also employs proper food combining techniques. There are lots of folks who say it's all cr*p, though. Good luck. IP: Logged |

They pulled their punches in Fit for Life. Fit for Life 2 is much better. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Take a look at this http://www.bodyecologydiet.com/index.html This is the Body Ecology Diet, I have the book and the info is valuable and awesome...a lot of info on food combining too. It may be a challenge to make all these health changes, but I enjoyed gaining insight from this diet. I also get the feeling that Donna Gates, who created this diet is open to immortality! In the book she mentions here and there that the body may live indefinitely when cared for, that we are not meant to harbor disease that leads to death, and she mentions that humans are moving toward a time of awakening. I love to hear about influential people who are open to endless possibilities IP: Logged | |
