I love my new rice recipe I made up, I just had to share. I made this a few weeks ago, and have been making it each week since. Last night's turned out extra yummy Jovette's Yummy Rice 1 T. Olive Oil Clove Garlic (crushed or chopped fine) 1/4 c. Onion chopped(yellow or white) 6-8 white mushrooms, sliced or chopped 1 3/4 c. Organic Veggie Broth 1 C. Brown Rice In large saucepan, heat oil on low. Throw in onion and crushed garlic. Saute a little bit and throw in mushrooms. Saute a little bit more. Add veggie broth and rice. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce to low. Cooks in about 50 minutes. Serve with yummy steamed veggies, of course. (your preference)

Harpyr,Let me know how you liked it. This past week I mixed in some lentils at the end, to add some protein. I read that lentils are really good for us. They have high fiber and high protein which I need, being vegetarian. You can add as much garlic or onions as you like; I like a lot of mushrooms. IP: Logged |
