This is a simplified version of my previous message 'The significance about dumping dairy'.Cows could live for more than 20 years, but under intensive factory farming, constant pregnancy and lactation, after 4 to 7 years the cows are slaughtered for their meat because their ability declines. Wouldn't you call that exploitation?
It seems a lovely idea to keep your own cows at home without the factory farming methods. But don't you think that cow's milk is meant to be consumed by her calves only? I can understand that this is difficult for you to accept, but you can at least try to imagine.
Besides, you really can obtain calcium and protein from a well balanced plant-based diet. Visit www.vegetarian.org.uk . Their magazines are good.
