Hi vinita! I asked your age because I still had 'puppy fat' at your age, had a pretty similar diet to yours too since I had many Eastern influences around me at the time. Some people don't loose that until their early twenties, so don't worry too much. It's good you want to take care of your diet, but don't panic since worrying will do all sorts of things to the way you eat! ie. sometimes the more stresses we are the more we eat.Hey oober-galaxian! Nice to meet you I think vinita is relating to Linda's Starsigns book, the chapter about food and weightloss when she talks about blue and red food. vinita, our fellow oober-galaxian has good advice for you too.
Now in answer to Q1, on sugar substitutes - also I've been using 'Splenda' not sure if you can get it in India, but it is made from sugar, tastes like sugar, but has none of the nasty bits sugar gives you! So use sugar subs in anything you make to replace sugar, here's a bit on it;

Of course you can eat oil - as long as you don't have an intolerance to it - but try not to eat food swimming in it!! It's been said that if you get a tissue and hold the fold you're going to eat, and it goes transparent then it ain't good for ya!! With most food this is almost impossible - but just use common sense! Oils such as olive and groundnut are preferable.
Fizzy drinks aren't good for ya in general! Bet you know that anyway though? One every now and then won't kill you. Boring as it sounds, water is the best thing ever. Seriously - follow a set of healthy eating and at least 2litres - one bottle of water a day and I promise you'll see the difference in your skin, hair, frame, everything. 15mins of exercise a day at least is required too, since it's after 15mins that your body starts to burn fat.
Wheat, simply makes some people bloated, heavy and lethargic. I have found that cutting out wheat is effective, but it always gradually creeps back in because it's less expensive and much more available than wheat-free snacks.
Sainsbury's have put together a comprehensive guide on different dietry needs

Unless you're following Linda's colour food guide completely, I wouldn't bother doing bits and pieces. Find food, and a way of eating that suits you - don't eat till you're stuffed, regardless of how yummy it is! And remember drinking lots of water in between it does help, honest!
I wish you all the best, let us know how you're doing,
Special
