Research shows that eating the tangy peels of oranges and naartjies can reduce harmful cholestral and help prevent heart disease. The peels have been find to contain extremely high levels of cholestrol busting compounds called super-flavonoids, a type of antioxidant.IP: Logged |

I'd eat them if I am certain that there are organic.------------------ "Know thyself" Inscribed on the temple of Apollo at Delphi IP: Logged |

I would also eat the peels but I think it will upset the stomach. But the taste would put me off too.IP: Logged |

So perfect, Yin and Yang. What about getting a 'zester/rinder' and sprinkling the grated/rind of citris fruits on salads and other meals? It's good like that. Also in banana/zucchini bread. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmIP: Logged |

I love orange preserves! They are made from the peels. I've eated raw peels before as well, they are unusual at first and refreshing when you get used to the taste. But I'm afraid that when cooked they'll lose their nutrients. ------------------ "Know thyself" Inscribed on the temple of Apollo at Delphi IP: Logged |
